  1. Like the payphone in another topic, this is another one we have not seen in years. Dad, misses his yard dogs something terrible. He has his dog with him sometimes and we do carry insurance as long as the dog isn't running the yard without a lead. He doesn't leave dads side so there isn't an issue. Every year Insurance Agent says he will not be able to add the dog to the policy and it renews anyway. Anyone else deal with having a dog on the business property. When we had them after hours, no one broke in to the lot. Someone did poison the neighboring companies dog, we did not have that happen. Then again they only ran to the fence if someone tried to get in. Dad said the drivers were not scared of the dogs back then. But, then younger drivers began to have issues coming in after hours. Who remembers having a Dog loose after hours?
  2. Up until a year ago we still had a booth similar to this one outside the front door. Not sure how many years it sat without a payphone. I do recall one as a child and watching folks check for change. However, the phone part has been gone more than a decade. After the phone was taken out we had one of those payphone on the counter. That lasted a few months and it became a huge hassle. Everyone has access to a cell phone now, so no issues there anymore.
  3. Thanks, I will say QUESTX has hit rock bottom in the past couple of months. While we are not out as much as some other companies, we do want what is owed to us. So, I would say it will take quite a bit to hold on to #5 for 2022. As for AGERO being #10 again. How they stay in the Top Ten is Amazing, someone must be making bank. We were not even getting paid by CC as they kept getting declined. Today they call 2 or 3 times and get the same answer. We do not have any units available for AGERO. We do appreciate the rankings, Geico is #1 and NSD is steady. Keep Up the Good Work....
  4. Congrats on the SUCCESS. Glad to see the return of the best place to talk towing... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
  5. WE have not changed tires or provided any services on roadways over 45mph for years now. The risk is far too high and we tow vehicle first. We take them to a tire repair or change it at a safer location. I had though everyone would be doing this now. But, I still see roadside assistance vehicles in the Danger Zone.
  6. Welcome Shana, this is the best place for all that is towing or going on in the tow truck world. The activity has increased so much this year, I need to start checking in much more often. I have gone from once a week to now twice, soon like next week it will be 3 maybe 4 days a week. Don't FEAR asking questions, there are more pro's here than anywhere else. Or at least more willing to offer professional advise.
  7. OKay, we start drivers and $15.00/hr. so except for they may have better benefits the pay is not competitive in this hiring market. Perhaps the cost of living is much lower there. Nah, I don't think so... Those are $18.00/hr and up positions and they should be embarrassed to list starting pay at $14.50/hr. Oh right, I was just reminded like motor clubs their rates are stuck in the 80's maybe 90's.
  8. aYES, thanks for sharing the images. Very Interesting, do you have anymore?
  9. Welcome, the information here is the best in the industry. Do not be afraid to ask questions.
  10. Does the tow company assume some amount of liability as it seems there were warning signs with this driver. Yet they sent him on a run with a single female involved. Did they really think the in cab camera was a deterrent, because obviously it was not enough. Any Follow Ups?
  11. Only 5 members from Goal, this is such a great resource in the industry and I see numerous guests every time I log in. Though I have to admit I look at the forums at times and do not log in on at that terminal. I stay logged in on my tablet and laptop. Good Luck Reaching the next Goal.......
  12. Oklahoma would have been the closest, But we don't have a heavy, unless you consider a 25 ton a heavy - cause I do not...... Going to look into the Virtual Stuff - Anyone here done one of these yet?
  13. I was looking through the drawers for a soda can cover, it will turn up. Just don't see them much anymore. Koozies and Pens A Plenty though. Koozies just end up in the trash, can lids hang around much longer as the same price. https://www.4imprint.com/product/105066/3-Step-Lid Can't wait to go to a Tow Show this year. Trying to make it to Ft Worth, TX. or Las Vegas, NV.
  14. Glad to hear they both were not injured. Seems this occurs so often the officers, even tow truck operators become complacent. That lack of fear will get you injured or worse killed. I see to many tow truck drivers who do not take their roadside safety seriously. Walking/Working in the road without having proper safety procedures in place. We take it serious here and will not let our guards down. If something tragic occurs, we are confident we did everything possible to avoid injury and like the other day someone still drove through the scene by going into the break down lane around the officers. I wanted one to go after them. But, as they said that would create a bigger threat as others would go through instead of around. That one must have thought around was a non driving lane.
  15. I do not know which Motor Clubs came in as a tie for number one. But, seem par for the course and I say go with it this year.
  16. NICE, should earn it's kept... How long was the wait for it? I ask cause we have chassis and everyone is saying at least 6-8 months.
  17. It's getting dangerous out there, especially after dark. Most of the companies around here will not go out. That's fine we have not stopped servicing our customers. Though, if they are someplace safe we do ask questions and schedule a tow for the next day. No we do not deny service or recommend leaving vehicles in questionable areas. I don't know about your area, but Catalytic Converter Theft is Ramped here. Next thing you know they will get brazen enough to try an attack one of us. It's already happened in the daylight.
  18. I WANT A ROTATOR LIKE THAT..... Dreaming again, we just got a 25T
  19. Just one upgrade, this is such a great resource. The fact that I can just drop when I have the time is a huge advantage for me. If I had the time to spend on Fake Book like I once did then I would find something else to do. I just need to set aside a day or two a week to check in here. Then in a few months I can check for new topics every day or two. How bout you are you a TowForce Fan? Sorry you did not reach your goal. I need to set mine at a more realistic level.
  20. Thanks for sharing the experience, I learn how to recover with minimal damages or how to avoid damages every time I log in here. Work with what you got will make you a better tow truck operator is what dad always says. But, then he is Old School.
  21. All to regular are reports of a someone assisting others being struck and killed. It's getting so regular that not only tow truck drivers are being injured or lose their lives. Out heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and co-workers. This has got to stop, more awareness, tougher penalties. This was a Hit & Run... we hope they find this murderer quickly. Yes, this a vehicular manslaughter "Murder" Gods Speed Driver
  22. I can tell you it is getting much worse here. There are few vehicles that are safe from this type of theft. They remove them from vehicle along the expressway, Parked at companies over the weekend, In car dealership lots., etc. One of the ones this week was a guy cutting the cat off a vehicle in a used car dealers lot. The owner lives nearby and saw the guy on camera when the motion was detected. He called the police while he and 3 other guys went to the lot. Well the guy did not fair well as they drug him out from under the second vehicle. By the time the officers arrived the guy was not going anywhere though he had tried. Got a truck in the impound now with 5 Cats under the bed cover. Not live cats and worth more than the few that hang around. Looks like that cage just made it more of a challenge to reach the award. Hope the Judges are awarding these thieves hefty judgements. We know there are NOT...
  23. This Winter Snow Storm Seem to have blanketed a good portion of the country and is still moving to the east. How much Snow did Winter Storm Izzy dump on You?
