We got this one the other day. The pickup truck and trailer and an old Mercedes were in the turn lane waiting to make a left hand turn. The black Colorado never hit the brakes and slammed into the back of the Mercedes, which then pushed the Mercedes into the trailer. It really hit hard, and there was a lot of debris to clean up.

This guy dropped his vehicle off his own driveway. His son was around 55-60 years old and was yelling at his father the whole time, "I'm taking your keys away." Sorry I didn't get more shots, I had to take these while working. Dlock13 said: I've used the lumber and jack a few times and it seems to work quite well. People don't really expect that approach for getting their vehicle out, but sometimes that is the best way. Nice job of using more than just the tow truck to solve a problem. Had a call from a little old lady customer who has a pottery here on Orcas saying a BIG truck was stuck in her lawn, I'll be right over, when I got there the truck was buried axle deep on the pass side in the wet yard about 50' from hard ground, first thing I asked the homeowner was "wheres your septic tank & drain field?" She said oh its way over to the right of the truck, great here we go, started pulling got her winched out of the holes the tires had dug & back about 20' then BANG, the drivers front drops into a septic tank. Had to reposition the truck for a lift on the drivers front & run a line to a little old apple tree for a pull from the rear at …

Just after 5pm we were called to Route 100 north of Route 113 for two vehicles after an accident with one overturned. Chris cleared the SUV out of the roadway to open things up for traffic, while Bill and Paul Jr uprighted the overturned vehicle and cleaned up the mess in the hotel entrance. About a week ago, just after 7 pm we were called to Pennsylvania Drive just off of Route 100 for an F650 Uhaul truck that was stuck in the mud. We arrived to find that the driver had become lost and attempted to turn around. We were able to winch the truck back to the roadway so they could get on their way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Another one from Uhaul this afternoon. We got a call about a Corvette that fell off a ramp while attempting to load it onto a Uhaul trailer. The vehicle had been sold and was headed to Virginia. The vehicle had a flat tire and stuck brakes so it was fighting them as they attempted to load the vehicle. We were able to lift the vehicle by using a wrecker on each side. Once it was back on the ramps we were able to winch the vehicle forward. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Paul Jr dropped off this box truck near Newark NJ. It had an electrical issue a few days ago around 4 pm on Planebrook Road in Malvern Pa. The customer called and asked how fast we could get him back to Newark so he could get another box truck. Once we verified their pockets were deep enough, off we went. 220 mile round trip for us in 5.5 hours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Now that Kat fixed the app so I can post pictures, I guess I’ll need to get to it. Luckily for us we had a quick crash tonight. Just before 730 tonight we were called to Route 100 and Sheree Blvd for two vehicles after an accident. Paul Sr was able to quickly clear the blue Nissan off the roadway from southbound Route 100 and Sheree. It had heavy rear end damage. Paul Jr pulled the white VW off the curb from northbound Route 100. From our understanding the white car had been traveling south but after striking the blue vehicle, it ended up on the other side of the road. Spill Tackle absorbent was used to absorb hazardous fluids that had leaked onto the roadway. N…

So, I took the chains off the wrecker two weeks ago, thought if I needed them again it would be for a new storm that we sometimes get in March and I would throw them back on the bed. Yesterday I got a call from Agero for a winch out about 2 hours from my shop but I was already 3/4 of the way there dropping off one. Same old story, less than 10 feet off the road, but this one was on State Game Lands and they needed it moved today. I don't have a contract with Agero so I bid it high and figured what the hell, I am almost there and they don't know that. I knew I bid it right when they had to get it approved from a supervisor. They call back 15 minutes later and acc…

Took this call yesterday from one of my repair shop accounts. Their customer stated they thought they had a flat tire. When I arrived I found this VW nosed in a sloped driveway, over a curb with a busted ball joint. ( so much for that flat ). It was on a narrow, sloped road right off the corner of a main street So there was no way to get straight on it. So rather than attempt to wiggle myself across the whole road and block traffic off the blind corner I decided to work an angled pull then "tail kick" my truck out after I got the rear of the car up on the edge of my deck. Some skates, Cribbing for the curb drop and a about 15 mins time, she was loaded and on her way to t…

Got called for a 2 car accident w/Rollover the other evening. The blue Taurus pulled out in front of the Jeep. The Taurus was sitting in the middle of the road so we just pulled that one on our bed. The Jeep was on its side, wheels facing away from the road. So we hooked low on the rear of the Jeep and slid the rear around till we could hook to it and pull it over. We then backed our rollback up to the curb and pulled it on to the bed. Cleaned up all the pieces, and were on our way.

Just the other day the Police called us for a car that was off the road. It was a brand new Nissan from Enterprise Rental, and the driver smashed it into a guard rail. They got taken by ambulance, and they must have took the keys along with them. because we had no keys and the electric parking brake was locked. So we hooked to the back and drug the rear up towards the road and the slide it onto the bed.

We got called by the police for a 2 car accident on Friday afternoon. It was a fairly heavy rear-end collision. When we got there the driver in the Nissan SUV in the front thought maybe he could drive his away once we pull them apart. ......Umm I think not......when we pulled them apart it was obvious that it was damaged to far to be driven, and the exhaust and some other pieces were dragging the road. So he left us tow it then. We loaded the vehicles, and then swept the road clean of all debris and oil dry. We then put clean oil dry down according to the officer's request.

Took yet another call for a LLV stuck in a driveway off a private road. The driver said he realized he was in trouble and attempted to do a k-turn and drive back out. From the looks of it though, if he woulda just went to the end like he planned he may have been able to swing around and drive out the way he went in. The choice to back into this driveway turned out disasterous for him.. lol A quick rig up and he was up n out in no time... BTW... This was my 43rd LLV winchout since winter hit...

Yesterday we got a call from a local business, their maintenance crew had got a Bobcat mini telehandler stuck in the snow, and it was up against the fence . It was off the the main driveway a little ways. So we used a single line to pull it away from the fence and back up to the driveway. Those little things got some weight! It had forks on the front, so 'I'm guessing it had some kind of counter weight.

We have had quite a few jobs where we need to plow access to get to the vehicle with a wrecker which is good for me! This person followed a GPS to an unplowed road extension where they got stuck. I won't risk one of the wreckers getting stuck or boring the heck out of it to get to a car. Once I opened the lane up, Eddie could get back there to tow the car out to the road... Makes for an additional "Buck & A Half" in the job and much easier on the "money maker"....

This driver made it to the bottom but could not go forward or backwards. He walked the package to the house on the hill while waiting for us to get there. 100 feet of cable, 30 foot strap, and 20 foot of chain to get to him LOL

Got a call the other night from a customer that had a disabled Explorer parked on the side of his property. The Township told them it had to be removed because it was on their Right A Way. We went up with the Plow Truck & Wrecker to dig it out... I had to shovel the corner a little to find the boundaries. Once the rear was accessible, I did the same thing to another car in his driveway. Then while Eddie recovered, I plowed the driveway & yard to put these vehicles in... Luckily it had a hitch so we didn't have to fuss too much getting it hooked up... On to the next...

I got a call today to an old state park near the shop. This is about 2 miles back in and down a long steep hill to this lake. BIG sign that says no winter maintenance, yet these three college students thought Monday was the day to go for a ride and see the lake they had heard about since the snow canceled classes for the day. Car sat there from Monday when they could not get it out after the snow, then Tuesday we got another couple inches............I guess they had classes yesterday, then they call me today to come get it out. I got down there with no problem but then could not move around too much. Put the dual chains on, loaded it, left the wheel lift e…

Was called by a local shop for a small pickup "slightly" off the road near the cul de sac on a dead end street. There was no mention of a tree, just unable to get out on his own. I wonder why? Took my carrier bed and extended it between the truck & tree, tilted the bed up & was able to winch it off the tree w/o further damage. There was suprising little damage to the truck, but not the case with the tree.

The other evening while it was snowing, we got a call for this Honda CRV that slid into this barn. I only took the time to take one photo, so you can't see the damage real well. It did do quite a bit of damage to the barn wall. We hooked to the back and used a snatch block off the back of our bed to slide the back end over to clear the rocks on the right. There was also a tree stump right to the left of the car also. But with a little winching around we got it out with no more damage. Thanks for looking!

I asked him "Brown one with a white tail?...yea I have seen that one" It actually slid out on it's side until it cleared the rocks, then dropped back on it's wheels like it was all planed...LoL

Got a customer request out of our normal coverage area for a Dodge truck that left the roadway for some reason, over a rock wall, snapped a big power poll, through the trees and into a parked car in the property owners driveway... You can see the pole snapped like 20" up... The truck was destroyed...suspension falling out of the front...a real lobster. Couldn't do much clean up due to the power company being there so I went back in the morning to evaluate & tidy up... Blasted that Camry...couldn't talk the owner in to letting us take it too.

Got a call from a friend of mine with a neighboring tow company that was on a scene for a customers accident but the police showed up and said they would have to call us for the impound. I told him to have his driver wait until my guy got there...it was 3' deep in the marsh and his guy had waders on! We recovered it to the road with the rollback... Brought it back to the shop. The police were involved due to the owner not on scene and presumed it may be a DUI situation. Thought it would make a good repair job for our body shop but they ended up totaling it due to the water damage. We…

Took a call from a customer last night who stated he was stuck down a long driveway after attempting to make a Door-Dash delivery. As I was taking his info over the phone, My buddy who runs the local AAA towing company called and told me the customer had originally called AAA for service and when he arrived, he found him approximately 300' from the road down a sloped, muddy camp trail. My friend didn't want to get involved with it through AAA knowing they don't pay well enough for him to return to his shop and gear up for that type of pull, so he turned the call down. He then told the customer to call me Knowing I carry enough equipm…
