Rob did a brand new Grand Cherokee the other night....Guy turned at an intersection - left the road - and slammed in to a concrete wall! No idea why...and he was fine since about 5 airbags went off... Destroyed the sign as well... Picked up by salvage the other day...

We responded to this one the other night. It was two cars that hit each other and flew off into a big retention pond . They were down in there pretty far. The ground was solid, so we just backed down in there to load them up. There was quite a few pieces to clean up as well.

Had this one the other night around 2:30. An intoxicated driver hit some parked cars. It was a total of 5 cars along with his that sustained damage. We towed 4 of them, and cleaned up the pieces and fluids.

I need the additional cowbells an F600 has over an F550 but I’m not stoked about a standard cab. Does anyone have actual input on the F600 and part two whats life like in a standard cab. I’m going to have as much space in storage boxes added under the bed as possible but I haven’t even sat in a standard cab truck in many years. Let alone worked out of one. Looking at the number of times I carried more than two people it’s not a lot however I’ve had several long tows with four even five once and the rigs were heavy trucks so I’d want to be in the new F600 on them but maybe I’m overthinking that. I know Christmas Day I delivered a family 300 miles from here and the job fin…

On the morning of Jan 3rd 2022 we had some black ice, a Z3 came around a downhill turn catching the ice & jumped the railing. Being on an island in a very rural area we only recently have had guard rails installed but I have had this plan in my head & practiced it with a single wrecker in similar lift & swing recovery situations before. 2 trucks, both Chevron 408's, one at each end rigged wide for control/stability at the control arms front & rear, booms out, lift, drive trucks forward while cranking the wheels of the tow trucks away from each other, lower the car onto the road. Front & rear bumper covers were already damaged upon arrival so no worries…

As nice as it's been, it's hard to believe we were working a snow storm just a week or so ago... A 5500 Dodge that burried itself plowing... Pulled it sideways so he could get it away from the tree that was nearly touching the side of the truck... I'll miss the revenue but not the cold...

Got a police call Sunday, late morning. When I arrived, the owner's mother and another guy had this loaded onto a tow dolly. Apparently, the wreck happened overnight on Saturday. They said they had been there since daybreak cleaning up and getting this loaded onto the dolly when the state police arrived. They had this RF laying on the dolly with 1" ratchet straps holding it in place. Needless to say, the officer would not let them move it. Apparently, there were other issues as well, the officer wanted it in secure storage and not to let anyone near it until he got in touch with me, and he was off for the next two days. Now it sits in a bay in the back o…

This was a job that a buddy of mine called me to help on a few weeks ago. Customer was clearing snow off of a section of the lake when their Kubota loader broke through the ice. Fortunately the operator got off unharmed. They responded with 2 LD Wreckers and some rigging supplies. Fortunate for us, the bucket remained up on the top which allowed for an easier approach. The lake was 8-10' deep where it was sitting. The machine was running when it went under so I don't have too much hope on the salvage... It weighed aprox. 2300-2500lbs with the attachments we figured but the real forces are the ice. …

The other night just as I was getting ready to leave we get called for a "4 Car accident on Black Ice w/ Injuries" We responded in full force... Ended up only getting a couple cars from it but we made a statement...LoL It was warm during the day creating puddles along the road...then the temp dropped 30 some degrees and everything tightened up. With the cars running through it, there was a thin sheet of ice for 50 yards.

Here is a Jeep that I got the other night. The driver was intoxicated and hit a pole and rolled the Jeep on its side. We pulled it back over, and cleaned up the debris and were on our way. The wires were hanging low over the road so it was closed to traffic.

Today we hand winched a Jeep out of a snow shoe / cross country ski trail. I met the sherif and forest ranger there last night. Forest ranger preferred we not destroy the trail any worse than it already was. We walked all of our gear in with my wifes yard cart used a TWIN LINE method;) three come alongs in series to the rear and one pulling sideways keeping it from sliding off the bank. After getting it back on solid hard packed snow we chained up all four tires and I took it for a ride. Turned out to be a family bonding trip to the wild. The snows two to three feet deep in a lot of the trail. The biggest issue was it was almost fifty degrees yesterday afternoon we showed…

I am looking for our first light duty carrier. Looking to have one truck to do everything. As a complement to our one heavy wrecker. We get a fair bit of snow and wind, would like a 4x4 550- 5500. Is this enough truck to handle most everything light duty? Or do we need a bigger truck to better handle things? The only reason to not go with a bigger truck is 4x4. What am I missing? Thank you.

We have been running strong for days with the current snow & cold spell... You have to remember bringing in the trucks & equipment to defrost between jobs when you can...our temps have been in the single digits and wind chills below zero. We tried to clean everything Saturday.

I had this one this weekend that slid off on a turn on a wet road, and in to a building site of a house. The lady that was driving took out a pile of plywood, and a pallet of rolls of tar paper, and hit a pile of rafters. It was a muddy mess around there too. I hooked to the front and pulled it towards the road. I choose to pull it from the front because I didn't want to mess up their plywood more than it already was. It came out fairly easy, there was a pallet stuck under the car when I got there, but once I started pulling it came out from underneath. I picked up the pieces from the car that were scattered around there, and was on my way. Someone had to come to a mess …

Got a call from the police for a vehicle that was stuck in a field near the township building. When I got there, here were these young guys that were stuck in a drainage swell. They had been cruising around in some fields nearby and drove in through the back of the township building, and got stuck in the ditch there. The mud was deep and soft. They had brought another SUV, and tried to pull them out, but that didn't work either. Then one of the police offthat was on duty that night saw them back there, and Uh oh there goes all the fun. So I backed my rollback in as far as I dared without making big ruts in their yard. And then out came all my chain that I had along. After…

Been a mix of snow freezing rain and ice for a week now. Looked at the ten day forecast and it looks like more to come. We have had the stunt drivers out practicing for a show I must not have herd about a couple tree huggers and one ice drifter in a wrx sti that found out his street tires really drift a lot. Not to mention the ones headed to grandmas house in vehicles that are not mechanically put together for a road trip. i was making invoices last night first night I’ve been home before 8 since last Monday when I thought Santa needs better Towing insurance or he ain’t gonna have any money to make presents next year, least not if I can help it. Don’t take that…

Had a new Dodge 2500 traveling around a pretty sharp bend when he lost control and left the roadway. It uprooted some large boulders, took out a sign and then hit a couple of trees which sent it on it's side. The truck was full of roofing materials which scattered all over... Set the van up in the turn to alert people of the incident. Set up to roll it back over while we cleaned up all of the debris... Drug it out in to the road to hook it up and move it... Used the loader to load the trees & move the boulders back. We cleaned …
