  1. Nice. You don't see many 377's anymore...I still have one. I don't like the look, hence why I never painted it to match...but it works good.
  2. This is the 4th or 5th truck wreck we have had in this intersection...the trucks turn left heading for the interstate and they must think they have the right a way and turn in front of southbound vehicles. It came in as car versus tractor trailer w/ a large spill so we headed with the Calvary...It was after hours but fortunately a few of my guys were still at the shop and we still had everything on scene in 15 min.... Traffic was making it's way around the incident and had tracked the spill all through the intersection. We brought the sweeper there which makes quick work of a dozen bags of absorbent. It ripped the steer axle out of it on the right side so we had to secure it back in place to tow it... Everything gets dumped right in the dump truck then... Once it was secure, I backed the unit through the intersection to get pointed the right way. Everybody loaded up and we roll out as a team... Got paid this morning and delivered the truck to a body shop 35 miles away... Overall it was a nice little job. It makes it worth while to have the support equipment for stuff like this.
  3. The body shop had some time between jobs so I had them paint the fender flares & door handles on the F600 rollback... We just like how it looks compared to stock.
  4. Cleaning out my phone for the week....I take so many dam pictures...LoL Thought I would post some of what I had going on this week. TT Tow out of our military base which can be a project in itself... Took the trailer to our shop to secure and a 50 mile tow to the dealer for trans problems. Western Express turned on a restricted road and then figured he would back out on to the main highway at night... Well he jacked it in to a telephone pole before he could do any real harm...pulled the drives & front of the trailer sideways for 10' and backed him out. Undecked a trailer for a customer in our yard... Told the guy he diminished about 50% of his chains capacity rigging it like this... Tri-Axle rolloff for a blown turbo... The rear was pretty "fugassie" and I wasn't trusting anything back there for a rear tow... Flatbed getting towed for a supposed running problem... I dropped the pig at the store and rear towed it soI didn't have to pull the shaft. Got back to the shop, dropped in the yard and it wouldn't move? Had to put the power divider in to drive it...pulled the axles and the front rear is blown. Glad I rear towed... Undecking some 24 Freightliners... Uhaul towed for a Pwr Steering Line, took it to a dealer and helped offload it in another truck. Then brought it back to our place for repairs.
  5. I verified coverage today and an adjuster is coming to inspect the casualty. We should be ok I based this job around the property damage to increase my chances of compensation...sometimes you just have to do the job to the best of your ability and then worry about figuring a way to get paid after completion. Leaving a mess like this made would have repercussions long after this truck is settled...
  6. No as soon as I got on scene, the Officer told me that the driver had someone coming for the trailer. That's typically not my procedure but I didn't rock the boat.
  7. I am doing the next gen 12 ton Jerrdan on a F600
  8. Went to the truck show today...thought I would post a few wreckers I saw... It seemed to be a huge turn out this year of trucks...a lot of nice iron.
  9. Had a 3am truck fire the other night... Fortunately the fire company got it out before it got to the batteries, fuel tanks or tires... We cleaned up the heavy debris that night but informed them that we would be back in the day light to do a proper restoration... Scraped up the mess & dumped in to our Dump Truck for disposal... That's a pretty fish, isn't it?...😁 Forgot the seed & straw so one of the guys brought it up to us... In 2 weeks you won't even tell that anything happened here... Mostly just charred residue & dirt so we dump this in a roll off can I keep at the shop. Pretty sure this one is ALL done...
  10. Guy calls the other day and asks if we could fix his new "Wink" electric car?...I figure, ok...I'll play along... Have to admit I never heard of them. I guess it's like a "community" car, not actually street legal. We towed it from a local country club. Build quality wasn't too impressive. This one was shipped to him and has an issue with the electrical system.
  11. This one kicked my but a little yesterday...Dodge 5500 service truck that snapped off the tie rod end... These are just too heavy for the 408. The truck does it "ok" but the unit isn't happy... Kind of can't wait to get a proper medium duty back...
  12. Good luck with that...they are non existent back east here. Could you use a newer generation aluminum body?
  13. Can't imagine what it's like there... The smoke is bad at our shop and we are 500 miles away...
  14. We do a lot of different things to support our community and the publicity & exposure is worth 10 fold... Here are a few examples... We donate a new tool box to the Highest Achieving Senior Awards program at our area Vocational School... This was my 28th year doing this. I also presented the certificate at their Graduation Ceremony. Contacted by our local historical Society to assist in moving a sign from a local Restaurant/Inn that went out of business during covid... The original Inn was built in 1825...shame to see it go... Here we participated in a local Touch A Truck... Kids got a kick out of the machine as well. Any chance you have to support your community, take it !
  15. Just a couple of tows in the last 24 hrs.... 45 mile tow to the customer's residence for a blown engine... 25 mile tow for a bullsh*t story with a truck that the customer didn't want to have to return.... Sterling Box tk back to the shop for a no start... Concerned because it was pretty high...took this pic to show the cable wire at the pole was already broke (a little CYA). I measured it just in case... A little over but nothing to worry about. If it was air ride, I would of dropped & tight chained the suspension but no luck... 23 F650 w/ some unhappy engine noises... 45 miles to a dealer instead of our shop since it was under warranty... Just emptying out my phone... 😁
  16. Never fails in this business. Whenever you make plans, something ALWAYS comes up... Staging for a 2 car crash, 6:00 Friday Night Couple other jobs...
  17. I took the new chassis out to East Penn's West shop in Mercer PA to have the body installed. My original plan was to load it on my 600 and tow it out there since I knew it would be a rough ride... A little too "sketchy" for a 300 mile trip...LoL It would of fit on our Peterbilt but then I would have to move things around. I ended up deciding to just drive it out and my buddy was giving me a ride back home... Put some temp rear flaps to keep DOT from bitchin... This is the base unit getting installed along with a tunnel box. A few other pics of their facility... My buddy's new chassis getting a 12 ton mounted on it... Made for a long day...600 mile trip, but got to spend some time in the truck and it works well. Excited to get it back...sometime in August.
  18. Rob & I had some "Community Service" to do this morning... We were contacted by the Pocono/Jackson Township Historical Society to transport the old sign for The Tannersville Inn. They want to restore parts of the sign and eventually use it for a display at the Historical Center. I have been going to "The Inn" for 50 years and have many great memories there. It's a shame that the facility couldn't have been revitalized for future generations. But, I guess "that's progress" as they say... Well anyway, we were glad to help out the Historical Society in preserving some local history which is a topic I am very fond of. If you have an opportunity to help folks in your community, please do because they work very hard at their cause.
  19. Today we did a Memorial Procession for a local operator who lost his fight with cancer... Shame...good guy that was only 49... https://www.poconorecord.com/obituaries/psom0473368
  20. Got a wake up call the other morning at 4:00...The call center said it was rolled over in the woods, over a stone wall so we wanted someone to help out the rollback on scene... Obviously speed was a factor... I set it down and an easy load on the carrier...
  21. Our right side has a basket as well, the trash can and assorted stuff is in that. These are pretty full though, I'll admit. We typically send out a crash truck for accidents if there is additional stuff needed for recovery & clean ups...
  22. I had a Volvo Triaxle broke down in the middle of a big busy intersection by us a while back...Fully loaded...I told the officer I'm sorry but I have to pull the shaft before moving this. He understood...
