  1. Yea we have a 25 year old relationship with U Haul and do a lot of repairs, towing & road service for them. We will check it out during the week to see the extent of damage.
  2. We had a body to pick up for a refurbish project the shop was working on in the Lancaster PA area. We received a call for an SUV in Allentown coming back to our town with nobody coming with it. Rob took a set of dollies with him and headed for the body... Then stopped on the way back for a Nissan... Sometimes the stars align and things work out....
  3. Got a call from the Control Center for "Medium sized Uhaul truck" that was wrecked. Not knowing what I was going for, I opted to head with a heavy just in case... We got on scene where I had to back down in to a small cul-de-sac to find a 10 footer on some rocks... The officer said he thought it might need the big truck to lift it off of there. Turned up it was involved in a chase, reported stolen, and then the operator became combative with officers... Lifted it up in the air and the tires started spinning...here it sat there in gear, running. As I lifted it, I found it had another surprise I wasn't aware of. Apparently he "popped" up when he hit the big rock and landed on a well casing which got caught up in the frame... Quick easy job...when I got back to the shop with it, I discovered a possible explanation for the poor judgement calls of the operator.... That "Fireball" will do it to you every time....LoL
  4. Good deal, glad you got your truck back in one piece. I want to "Shout Out" for Dennis @ Washington Collision for first identifying the truck was in NJ to get folks looking around.
  5. I'm sorry I don't know a model number but it's right from Chevron & made for the 408 unit.
  6. No the load angle is real low on this truck when the suspension is dropped and the XLP body.
  7. I always felt adamant to tech my kids, and now grand kids, to treat your possessions with care and take pride in their appearance... This is my 8 year old Grand Daughter helping clean trucks the other day... Then when everything is clean...she rides "shotgun" with me...LoL
  8. We do quite a bit of these... They are big & gaudy but the truck handles them very well...
  9. They are big & heavy...especially if a diesel...but these Peterbilts handle weight so nice.
  10. I have seen them but never towed one. Looks big but probably not that heavy?
  11. One of my testimonials is at the beginning of this topic so I don't know how much more I can say. The "Proof is in the Pudding" they say...and folks can look at the dozens of jobs I have posted on this board showing clean up jobs...both small & large. We look at the potential of each & every job that comes in, and act accordingly. I'm not trying to brag, but all of my primary trucks are within 4 years old, all of our clean up equipment is new/late model and everything is kept at the 100% level. It's easier when my goals changed from trying to do every call out there and push for more & more volume, to concerning myself with only doing premium paying jobs and making the most out of each situation. I don't have the call volume I did...but I also don't have trucks with 200, 300 or 400,000 miles on them either. I don't have as much staff as I did...but my guys make more now then they ever have. I was in business for 15 years prior to the class and it always seemed like I was stuck in the "million a year club", no matter how hard I tried. Now we do 2-3 times that with less overhead & nicer equipment. I'm not giving them all the credit for the advancement but it's certainly a valuable tool that we used to restructure the way we look at business. Honestly, I could probably double that number if I wanted to be more aggressive but I'm pretty content where we are now. In closing, there is a tremendous amount of value in the teachings if you work it and allow yourself to change where needed and stop diminishing your own value. There are a lot of professions in this world that work hard and display talent...but not many that have the dangers & risks that we endure on a daily basis. Learn to reward yourself and your people for those risks...and back it up with the proper revenue to finance it!
  12. I thought the same thing....and of course we sent a couple rollbacks & a crash truck to do the job...
  13. This will be the 1st time I have been to this show...looking forward to it. We are driving down and then going to play tourist for a few days coming back.
  14. I'm frustrated over the show schedule but will be there. I wanted to bring 2 new Light/Medium duty's down but it doesn't look like the one will be done in time. So we figured we would bring the new 550 down anyway. But now we find out that the truck has to be removed from the hall by 8:00 Saturday night? That blows...what do I do with it then? I really don't want to have to find street parking along with all of the other contestants....nor am I excited to leave a $200,000 light duty out in the city overnight. Unless everyone is just going home on Saturday? I guess it was the same last year as well? We didn't bring anything down last year and only stayed over Friday night. Either way...I'll be there.
  15. We ended up putting nearly $10,000 in to this bus to make it right & legal...While my guys were working on it, they found some spiders running around under there... Freakin Black Widow spiders in the chassis of the coach...this created some "drama" around the shop for a while...LoL
  16. Had a gas truck out on the Interstate the other day. Driver said that the belt broke... Nice that the trooper stayed with us until I got the shaft out and hooked up... Put the dam shaft back in before I looked at it so I could drive it around the shop... Harmonic balancer broke off the crank shaft....So I had to re-hook the next morning and towed it to the Peterbilt dealer. Truck is a 22 w/ 50k on it so still under warranty.
  17. Had a call come through the other day for "3 15 year old kids on dirt bikes got hit by a car"...Place was hopping so we scrambled to get equipment heading there. Ends up being 3 kids were on 1 electric motor scooter that got hit by a car when they were messing around in the road... Don't suppose anyone will be coming back for this... Fortunately this had full coverage. The kids were all transported (1 flown) to trauma centers for non life threatening injuries. One of my techs saw these kids racing around on the main road as he was returning from lunch not 10 min prior to this crash.
  18. Very nice job. Can't say I recall ever having one land like that....
  19. We used to do a lot of these years ago but not so much anymore... 40 mile tow back to a Lincoln dealer.
  20. Thanks. Honestly I like all cars and I tend to gravitate to cars of my history. My Dad had a 67 Plymouth when I was little, and I always liked the looks of that car. When I found this one, it was priced right...and the grandkids get such a kick out of the convertibles. My dog loves it too! My grand daughter Ryan was with me when I bought it...she was so excited to be on TV. She's my Auction Buddy but she can be dangerous....she can spend money like it's someone else's! LoL We spent three days there a couple weeks ago.
  21. Couple of beaters recently but this morning we had a good 2 car with a 23 Ram & 22 Kia so the stars are aligned again...LoL I wasn't on this one and nobody got any pics so...
  22. Had a call to pick up a generator system that was being donated to a local Fire Company... Brought everything back to our facility where we are going to go through the engine and refurbish the appearance of the machine as well. This will be the second unit that we have done for this Company.
