Got a call to unload some 12,000lb coils of steel the other day. They were loaded "Shotgun" style and the receiver couldn't get them off with their forklift. Simple job to lift them and set on the ground where they could load them up...

Local dealership called to say transport tried to drive thru this old gravel drive to turn around. Driver had already unloaded truck for this dealer, and had gone this way before. Did two 2 part lines as he thought about 60 k altogether. He said truck empty was 42 k. and figured 4 vehicles still on truck at 18k and with a little help he was able to go this way today!

Got this UTZ snack truck the hit a pole yesterday. We pulled it out of the field, and then hooked it from the front. I think the steering was messed up, and there was no real good place to hook in the rear, so we got it from the front.

Couple of European guys that were "communication challenged" got themselves in to an awkward situation this morning... Not sure how they did it but I'll assume there was some practice involved to get it "just right"... Starts off with a call on the radio to the office that I can't find the 2008 Volvo that is supposedly stuck at this facility. Dispatch says the guy sees you and he's coming over? So I see a guy walking towards me and then notice this trailer with a light pole sticking out the side...??? So I drive over & get out to evaluate. The conversation was very much "one sided" between this experienced team & myself... I start it…

I had a call of a loaded propane truck on a 8 percent grade off a private roadway stuck in soft planting mulch. Brought the 81 KW W900A/Holmes 750. Unpin booms, lift & swing the front back onto the road, then my Son in law winching for the finish to get it up back on the road.

Had a trailer that did a nose dive when the forklift went in it the other night... Fortunately no-one was hurt. It ripped through the bumper securement on the dock... Lifted it and set on trailer stands... Not sure why the leg gave out, it didn't have much weight in it.

My grandson & I went out for a stuck 26 Footer yesterday... All 4 wheels sunk... Can't imagine why it wouldn't drive out...he tried all of the home remedies! Pieces of wood, cardboard, rubber mats...saw some rocks & stones...but nothing worked. Told me he spent 2 days trying to get it out...so I'm anticipating that we will be picking this truck up soon for tires or a transmission...LoL Doubled my line because it was in there pretty good. It drug the wrecker back for a little bit until the leg "bit" in and then she popped out.

This was a clean up job we did this week for a customer. A guy was carrying open drums of diesel fuel in the community in the back of a Pickup and every time he came to a stop or turned...the fuel would slosh out! We had 6 separate areas spread over 2 miles of road so we took both clean up trucks to try to contain and speed up the process.... We had rob go back and get more materials once I realized the extent of the spill... This is a gated community with nearly 10,000 homes in it. We do all of their work for the security & maintenance depa…

One of our customers needed help building a block wall for his materials bins. His machines wouldn't lift the 4000# blocks at the height needed... It would of been so much easier if I could sit & spin.... 😒 We got it done though...

Couple of heavy jobs I did today. The roads were shitty and it was cold as heck. My big truck was clean and I didn't want to mess it up...LoL We do these on a daily basis. Guys cant get pinned up in the gravel lot where they park empties or can't move once pinned... Pulled him out. Then freewheeled and let him hit the trailer hard. Then winched the whole thing out... Gas truck 30 miles away in a poorly maintained development. Went around the turn & stuffed it in a snow bank. It was literally hard to stand or walk on the roads they were so slippery... Half loaded... …

A job we did in two parts. Last week we pulled old engine out, this is a pic of setting new one in. Nice to work inside where its was warm! Pretty simple, they had it sitting on rack in front of truck, just pick and set!

We use the small trucks quite a bit for recoveries, sometimes because the development roads are typically poor for a big truck...and sometimes just because we can. This oil truck parked on the steep hill to deliver which may have not been the best choice. He got out to check the house and the truck took off sliding down the hill in to a snowbank... I knew the roads for 40 years and they are never good. I actually had the same issue a few years ago with one of my medium duty's. So I decided to take one of the 4wd's just in case... Ran both lines down to the unit and left 3 wraps on the drums. Married the 2 …

This was a first for me...a "Rock Sucker" truck. Got a call saying they had an empty Vacuum truck that dropped in a hole. There were some Language barriers with the driver...English obviously being his secondary language, but we found him.. Yea it was in a deep hole but far from empty. I couldn't understand how they got it so packed & "cubed out" in the body? The center line of the axle was about level with the ground level so I worry about "popping" it up & out. I always recover what is stuck...this case being the rear tandems. I decided to hook to the top of the tank and roll the body sideways t…

Had this the other day that I had to winch out 3 times... He dropped the can but then couldn't get up the incline so he backed up for a run shot and buried it in the mud... My bumper is right on the edge of the road so I could stay out of traffic... Someone got this relic of a loader started & was going to try to push him out but then the tire went flat?.. Pretty wet...we got 6" of rain from a hurricane the other day... 1st thing I noticed was he backed over a "big piece of concrete' as he described when he went in...I told him that was an old "cess pool" septic and I wou…

We got a call the other day for a skid steer stuck in the mud. This is a brand new machine with about 15 hours on it. He was clearing this lot and was impressed with how good it moved on the tracks so the day after a big rain he is back at digging out the stumps, then he backed into a hole left from a stump that was dug out. woops, it wont come out. It was a greasy mess, I had to winch myself back up as far as I could then chain myself to his dump truck to keep me sitting still. I rigged for about 20K resistance but I am sure it was not that stuck, after the initial movement it walked right out

Had an accident call the other night about 10:00 on the interstate. A loaded TT hit the guard rail & barrier in a single lane construction zone at the beginning of an off ramp. He kept driving for 2 miles before he came to a stop...not sure if it was the 1st safe place or he ran out of fuel... Filled the damaged tank with absorbent to stop it... Hooked the whole unit, had a load of some sort of contaminated water.... We returned in the day light to clean up the mess on the shoulder... The arrow board helps to keep people moved over.... …

This guy was trying to back up a steep driveway and missed it by 3 or 4 ft....on the driver's side... Tried the typical wood under the tires and what not...can't imagine why it doesn't work... Gate was dug in to the blacktop... Wrapped the door frame using a foundry hook on the lift gate frame. It was plenty sturdy and all I wanted to do was tilt the truck over a bit... Released the brakes and it rolled right out. After a minute or so...do you keep trying? We were prepaid so the job took about 10 min once on scene...

One of our local Distribution Centers are packed with trailers so they have been parking some in this field. It's probably not a real good idea but has been lucrative to us. This guy said he was just turning around? Probably not a good idea after the 5" of rain we had the other day with the Hurricane that hit us... Pulled it out of the holes but figured he probably wouldn't get out...so I pulled him all the way back to dry ground....

With pleanty of room and no traffic to deal with Mike tried his single lane roll-over. As you can see a catch line was added to the other side once the car was on its side. However, when the car was rolled onto its wheels it wanted to roll forward. It bumped into the back of the truck. Opps Good job to Mike (pictured) on the recovery. If anybody has any thoughts as to why the car would roll forward please add. Parking b…
