Recieved this call yesterday morning. The customer parked near the entrance to the hotel, (75 feet from the front door), checked in & spent the night. This is what she found in the morning! Placed go jacks under all 4 wheels, pushed out of parking place then installed the carrier dolly system loaded & delivered to the shop. The customer was heartbroken over what happened to her new Blazer.

Picked this "Vintage" Dodge Dynasty up for a customer this evening after it died in the middle of nowhere on him. When the customer called, I was having a hard time understanding him due to poor reception and all I could get was 93 dodge and a roundabout Idea of where he was. Now, personally, I haven't seen one of these "K-cars" on the road since I was a teenager. I was really surprised to see what it was when I pulled up. It is probably one of the last ones somewhat road worthy in the north east region considering these things were complete turds that liked to randomly burst into flames way back when they were new. LMAO

Received a call from the City P.D. this morning for a 2 car collision at one of the city's frequent accident intersections. This Saturn Vue rolled through the stop sign and was T-boned square in the passenger side doors Which whipped the suv around, up and over the curb, through the one way sign and smashed it, Drivers door first into a utility pole. Amazingly, The driver was not seriously injured. The curtain air bag certainly did its job as you can see from the photo's.

Picked this one up this Xmas morning for one of my loyal, regular customers. Typical Chrysler product issue when the lugs are over-tightened. Luckily, the driver had just pulled off into a housing complex off the highway when the wheel let go. Driver also claims there was zero warning that anything was amiss with the van untill the wheel simply fell off. ( No, I dont believe him and neither does his boss ) Some cribbing, a quick lift to remove the jammed up wheel, a skate, a plank of wood and off we went back to the taxi companies terminal shop. This is probably the 5th or 6th one that has happened to this taxi company. Majority of their fleet are these vans or Chevy Mali…

Got this poor Honda Element earlier today (Xmas eve ) from one of the major thorough fares in and out of our city. As you can see, the right rear trailing arm tore out of the badly rotted sub frame. This type of damage is actually very typical around here due to the incredibly ridiculous amount of salt, brine and chemicals the state uses to treat the roads for winter. Vehicles rot out terribly and fast due to it. Weather here has been batty the past week or so. Last week, we were slammed with low 20's for temps and a blizzard that dumped around 18" of snow, and here today, the temps were in the 60's and pouring rain. This all of course has led to some pretty severe floodi…

As a hobby I collect and restore 71-72 honda z600 micro cars. I bought 6 of them in a field in central Michigan. The cars have been sitting over 35 year on the ground. The floors and rockers are gone. The first one I tried to pull out split in two. So I devised a plan to lift them lenght wise with a fork lift. I ordered some 84 inch fork extensions to adapt to my jerr dan self loader. The cars only weigh 1200 lbs I need to lift them to my trailer. Anyone ever seen forks put on a wrecker?

Is there any way to manually release these stupid electric emergency brakes when the car has them applied and has a power failure? Had a few lately that you couldn't jump and everything is dead and the rear wheels are locked. Another hurdle to overcome like getting them into neutral.

This Topic is from November 2011: This was something we thought was a little different and that some may get a kick out of. Wasn't sure where to put it since it has a little bit of everything in the job.... Got a call last week from a local church asking if we would be willing to help them pick up their Christmas tree. We told them sure we would take care of it. Little did I know just what kind of project it would turn out to be! It started on Saturday when I met a few volunteers from the church at a tree farm. Then we drove a half mile through the woods on trails to get to the back of a field. I started to get that "feeling" you get when you know when thin…

This is one of the 4 listed in the article link below. Having it towed with its wheels in contact with the road When having a two-wheel drive vehicle towed by a tow truck, it’s generally okay to put the car in neutral and let the rear, non-drive wheels spin freely against the road. But if your car has all-wheel drive, you absolutely mustn’t let the wheels drag against the pavement. Always ask for a flatbed tow truck that will bring all four wheels off the pavement; never use a hook-and-chain or wheel lift tow truck. Otherwise, because all-wheel-drive systems are permanently engaged, the transmission will be wrecked. https://thenewswheel.com/4-blunders…

Took a call from city parking enforcement for a vehicle parked in a "Car Share" space. ( Long story short, car share is a city funded vehicle "loan" program. Basically, you sign up, get the app then you can "borrow" any one of the stratigically placed vehicles throughout the city as long as it stays in the city and is returned within 24 hours.) Some skates, a quick snatch block to straighten it up on the deck and off we went. The customer called to claim the vehicle and stated they couldnt understand the signage. What do you think?

Good Morning All ... Here's a fun video from Florida to start your day. If you're a wheel-lift wrecker driver ... I think you'll appreciate this. R. Test: If this car is involved in a "rear-ended" crash ... is it considered head-on ? ? ? ?

Friday night customer called for his 2012 Bentley that had front struts failed. It was on the ground and that the dealer suggested us with our Detroit Wrecker Low Loader. After we have him the quote he decided to call aaa instead. Sunday afternoon he calls back to have it taken to a local shop instead on Monday after three others came and left. Getting it out of the parking spot was fun doing a 20 point turn lol. The shop needed it inside the bay and Ralph made it look simple.
