  1. Start em young, keep em on the right track and even if they go another direction they always have a trade to fall back on. Good to see the PPE
  2. Last night I was sitting in the living room, talking to my wife about life.. In-between, we talked about the idea of living or dying. i told her : Never let me live in a vegetative state, totally dependent on machines and liquids from a bottle. If you see me in that state I want you to disconnect all the contraptions that are keeping me alive, I'd much rather die'. My Wife got up from the sofa with this real look of admiration towards me & proceeded to disconnect the Cable tv, & DVD, then the Computer, the Cell Phone, the iPod, and the Xbox, and then went to the bar and threw away all my whisky, rum, gin, vodka & the beer from the fridge... I ALMOST DIED!! SO, I BETTER BEHAVE CAUSE WITHOUT THOSE THINGS LIFE WITH HER IS GOING TO BE EVEN HARDER...
  3. Welcome, the membership sure is starting to grow fast now. Ron, you did say it would take 3 years and you might be right
  4. Welcome, saw the work truck show post in Industry Events. Something tells me your going to be popular thanks for supporting our community. Those wipes look strong, gonna see about making an order soon.
  5. Virginia is going to Hell in a Hand Basket and the Tow Companies must have their heads in the sand like many Virginia Voters.
  6. I would Hire a Female that was eager to work in what has been a tough industry. Hope to get the chance, so far they have all been too young with little service experience.
  7. OK, Tony you have my attention. You went from 1 truck to 50 trucks in a period of 1 year. If you do not mind me asking, why can I not locate a DuraTow in the state of California?
  8. The new news video in headlines fills in the blanks and makes it clear from a tow company owners prospective. When we and/or our trucks are struck, our adrenaline kicks in and we respond on impulse. Absolutely, no way to truly explain our impulse actions or reactions. It's in our DNA and as rational as some of us think we are, let someone attack us.
  9. Never enough for a tow operators life, which few seem to value till they need one of us in a hurry. Then they expect us to respond like a first responder and not the service provider we actually are 98% of the time.
  10. When these are working they talk to you and what they say is hey you didn't get it in park. But, the a REPO company isn't going to use them. Oh the one on the left is $60 to $100 and the one on the right is $20 from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00196FDOW
  11. AT what point is your life worth more that that vehicle determined to leave your lot. Move Away the vehicle will be found and it was the person will be arrested and they were. Your injuries will be a reminder for possibly the rest of your life. Some judge will make them pay restitution which you'll be lucky to ever see and they'll walk free. Again not worth your life, which yes will be effected if you shot them over a vehicle. I don't know that stand your ground would apply.
  12. I saw where the family asked for privacy. But, are there any updates on the drivers condition.
  13. Any Pictures or better yet Video from these events?
  14. Company does PPI so they may not care about their public image. But, they should care that anyone either in this group of bike riders or watching this video might pull out a magnifying glass on the tow business.
  15. Can any of the members here residing in Virginia explain this?
  16. It seems like this is a trend, if this had been a Police Officer, Fire Fighter even EMS or maybe DOT she might have been found guilty. But a Tow Truck Driver or say A Garbage Collector we are discounted by the general public. What would happen if there were no vehicles being Towed or Trash being Collected. There comes a point when WE say enough is enough and as Professionals decide our lives and the jobs we do are as important as those who receive what seems to be much more respect. Let the vehicles sit for a day or two and the trash back up for a week. Our value and importance to society will not go unnoticed.
  17. Is this one of the largest Tow Truck Processions the industry has seen. Does anyone know of other 100+ Truck Tow Processions over the years.
  18. Found one in one in an impounded abandoned work truck, it's soaking in transmission fluid now.
  19. This will bring nothing but heartache to numerous other North Carolina Tow Companies for years to come. Regardless if the Tows are legal or not, being featured in the News over and Over is No Good. I would suggest to RPM Towing stay out of the News, Document Everything and be a stand up company, not the shady company you appear to be. While I believe RPM's tows are likely legal to start, they seem to go past that point. As Kenny Rogers sang. "Know When To Hold Em & Know When To Walk Away" Far to many do not know when it is in their best interest to cut the line. The next report will be the company owner, one of his drivers (if he has any) or someone tagging along is going to injure a car owner. Then the media is going to freak out. Regulations will be BAD, where is the State Association On This?
  20. Why Not, the rear isn't that heavy. Strap the Inside Tires and Ride On. While I'd rather have it on a longer wheelbase wrecker, It doesn't look like it squatted or raised the front end. That would not have been the case from the front.
