I write this message on behalf of my sister in-in law and her husband, who, for the past week, were driving from the Pacific Northwest to Tarpon Springs, Florida, traveling in a new Chevy pickup pulling a 24’ foot, two-axle travel trailer. Afterwards, Annette and Bob called to tell me of their, “scary”, experience and how much they were impressed with the Ranger’s safety and experience in helping them out. While Bob is a retired, over-the-road trucker, he could have changed the …

Activists demand the city speeds up process of creating a Zion Cemetery Memorial Park TAMPA — Feeling like the process of creating a memorial park on erased Zion Cemetery’s property is moving too slow, activists are demanding the city of Tampa expedite the process. The city has already agreed to help form a nonprofit charged with buying the land along the 3700 block of N Florida Ave., which is now split between three owners. That is underway. But members of a Zion advisory committee want the city to offer the owners a land swap deal and do so immediately. Then, demolition of the buildings on that land can begin and the park can be …

We remember our friend and industry trainer J. David Lambert who passed away a year ago yesterday. Rest in peace Dave. I miss you Dave and our on-going conversations ... you're not forgotten. Dave was instrumental in helping to build the foundation of tow operator safety training to industry professionals. Dave formalized the life-saving concept of not changing tires on the highways by initiating TowFirst on his website. For those of you who didn't have the opportunity to know Dave, here's a website to view his contributions. https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/tow411/dave-lambert-north-america-towing-academy-05-17-17-t142035.html R.

Tow Truck Driver is OK after being rear ended at a stop light... He stated in a FB post: the only skid marks were from our truck being pushed forward the driver of the Mazda never slowed until the collision... This could have been a lot worse... The vehicles were stuck together pretty good and took some effort to separate them. The truck is drive-able but took a hell of a hit. She's a little twisted now.

Just after midnight this Thanksgiving morning, a tow truck in Tampa, Florida, was struck, burst into flames and killed the motorist that ran into it. The good news is, Christine and I are thankful that tow operator Christopher P. Leipold is OK. Studies report that as many as 800-motorists have been killed in the last 10-years over the Thanksgiving holiday. I guess the numbers will continue. We send our prayers to the family of the person killed in the crash. R. Link: https://www.tampabay.com/news/tampa/2019/11/28/tampa-man-dies-in-fiery-thanksgiving-morning-crash-on-i-4/

I have received his permission to share the events of his incident from yesterday. I spoke to Mike Sunday morning. The hospital has determined that he was bitten by a Diamondback Rattle Snake. He is in the critical care section of the ICU in Tampa and they are expecting him to be there until at least until Wednesday. The swelling in his arm is starting to go down as his white blood cell count, both of which is good. His previous tow call was in Land O’Lakes to a wooded/…
