In 2019 we had a record number of deer hits ( I think we towed over 215). As of today, only had 64 on the year. I have heard from several hunters the our whitetail deer population is way down in Maryland due to " blue tongue" which has killed many.

Chevy "Super Cheyenne". 400 small block from the factory..sat for a couple of years & became a victim of bad ethanol fuel.

Pretty neat car. All original, runs & drives. Some rust but not bad for a 80 year old car. I doubt that anything built today will be around in 80 years!

Really don't do much for any clubs, put them ALL (other than Geico) on a cc up front last year. If we were to rank them, here they are: 1. Geico 2. Quest 3. Gerber 4. N S D 5. Agero Have not done work for any other clubs this year.

TowForce Semi-Annual Roll Call "Dec. 1st - Jan. 15th 2021"
Chuckud replied to TowForce's topic in Tow411 Main Street
Happy to be here ! -
Years ago, a former employee hit a small deer which went under the truck & he thought "out the back". He stopped, checked out our truck, saw minimal damage so he continued the last 25 miles to deliver the 2 cars he had loaded to the auction. What he failed to realize was that the deer carcass was wedged under the wheelift & needless to say, sprayed the car on the wheelift with lots of blood & gore. This occured on a Friday night & the car sat until Monday without being cleaned off... One guess who had to pay for a paint job for that car....ME!

Re: Who Get's Tasked to Inspect Dollies ? ?
Chuckud replied to rreschran's topic in General Equipment
I believe that this falls under the "captain of this ship" responsibility, meaning the driver of the truck is responsible for inspecting & reporting unsafe equipment to their manager. However, the driver is NOT responsible to repair the dollys. If a driver cannot tell there is a problem with the dollys on the truck they operate, I am sure that they dont belong in one of our trucks. Sent from my SM-N970U using TowForce mobile app -
10 ft grade 100 has worked well for me, although I do not use the truck bar often. The aluminum angle is invaluable, & I also carry a 5 ft 4x4, (pressure treated), which helps under leaf springs. The HPL 60 on that size chassis is a super versatile unit & mine has served me well beyond my expectations..from small cars to single axle road tractors, box trucks ect. Collins carrier dollys. Makes difficult jobs easier, we use them for suspension damage, low clearance vehicles, missing wheels, motorcycles...too many scenarios to list. Collins SLZ Dollys, light, easier to load , just a great addition to our wheelift. Sent from my SM-N970U using TowForce mobile app

Really neat 1 owner car taken out of garage where it spent the last 15 years transported to shop to get it running. The owner bought it new in 1973! Sent from my SM-N970U using TowForce mobile app

Looks more like a Holmes 480/500 imho. Holmes 440's were single winch. Appears to be an add on wheelift. Sent from my SM-N970U using TowForce mobile app

Fort Washington NYC Tow~Virus=No Traffic

Yep. The same here outside of DC. This morning had to go into DC & the roads were relatively empty. Sent from my SM-N970U using TowForce mobile app -
The purchase price was a little over $2200, & I had our fleet shop do the install. I never have had any faith in the 1930's technology cable park brakes & had grown tired of shutting off the truck ,(a manual 6 speed), in gear & chocking wheels, then reversing the process when ready to drive in order to be confident that the truck would stay still. I had a scary incident while unloading a 15 passenger van on a hill back in November that made the decision for me.. I would urge anyone who has 1 of these International trucks with the cable park brake to at least take a look at the cable as they are very prone to stretching & rusting. A park brake failure will cost more than dollars, it could cost someone their life! Sent from my SM-N970U using TowForce mobile app

Just finished installing a Mico brake lock, 4 channel abs system on our 02 International 4300. It works great! I've never been comfortable with the parking brake system on this truck , (just parking on a hill was spooky), but after testing this out on a serious grade loaded, it was worth the investment! I've never had a problem but I could see a 10 inch or larger width tire being an issue. Sent from my SM-N920V using TowForce mobile app

In my humble opinion they are a great tool & are well constructed..we have used our set extensively and have never had a problem. As for storage, we have our 4 wheel set in a 60 x 24 x 18 underbed box along with assorted blocks and the load bar. Never leave the shop w/o them. Sent from my SM-N920V using TowForce mobile app

We have set a new record of "deer hit" tows this year. The old record was from 2016 at 179. So far 221 in 2019. Sent from my SM-N920V using TowForce mobile app

Here's a nice 51 Caddy belonging to one of our customers. Really nice car & the owner drives it regularly. But this day it developed a gas leak & left he & his wife on the side of the road.
