Well my son had a new web site built for the company and it just got up & running today. There's a few things we want to add but I think it gets the job done? https://www.teamedspa.com/ There's a lot of emphasis on the shop, scheduling and services because that's our main business. Had our Lighting guy change out the small bar light they installed previously...it wasn't what we wanted. That's much better... 😁

George there's nothing wrong with that... There are times that Eddie will be out in the middle of the night and get some POS that's doubtful of any coverage and just drag it home... A lot depends on what's going on and where we can justify the effort. My new rollback is almost done and has the Side Puller on it. It's our 1st truck with one on it and I'm excited to see it's abilities. Hopefully we will have it by mid March. They called the other day to go over lighting & accessories so it must be close. I asked him to send us a couple of photos...

If we are notified on dispatch that the vehicle is in the woods, rolled over or anything more then a hook & go, we try to send a wrecker & rollback along with the Crash van if we can. In the middle of the night, we typically respond w/ just a rollback in an effort to not get everyone up unless necessary. Most of our work is in a 10 mile radius of the shop though so it's easier to back someone up if needed.

No Brake Lock needed with these Bad Boys in the rear....LoL This truck has hydraulic stiff legs on the rear so it sits still... This pic is actually our older unit that the new one replaced....same set up.

More Goodies came yesterday... Stainless exhaust system and a couple of 48" stainless tool boxes...

At night...in the woods...no keys.... and then the guy will say "wait, what? I thought tows were like $75.00? You only towed it like 2 miles?"...

I test drove one in 1986 and liked it. We bought 3 in 87' and many more through my years there until 1994. They were great little trucks...

We made some forward progress on my dump truck...got a lot of stuff going on but I am trying to keep guys on it. We received the new wheels & tires this week so they went on... Had to replace the rear backing plates, about the only rust we found on the truck... So it got all new brakes and serviced both drive axles. It's back to being a "roller" again. Hopefully Monday the engine will start to be assembled. It's a process but I'll know every square inch of it when it's done!

Chassis refinish is complete so it's on it's way back together... Cab is in the body shop to be refinished now...

My longest is 22'. I don't know...any time I ever needed a longer bed, 2' wasn't going to make the difference. And it's not often that anything that didn't fit on my carrier, was something I would want on my carrier? We have been talking about buying a 30 or 40TB NRC and it would 28 or 30'.

The Holmes winch was rated @ 15,000 on the first wrap, 10,000 on the 4th wrap. Bottom line, it's the least of your worries on a car wrecker. These would winch until you flipped the truck over if you wanted to... The primary concern is the rope which they are showing 6x9 Fiber Core 3/8 wire rope rated at 3500 lbs safe work load. That was using around a 3.5 safety factor on new rope. No different then modern wreckers. Get some good snatch blocks for heavier duty work and you will be fine. Going to steel core rope will increase those numbers some (like 4-500 lbs) but it wraps harder and difficult to keep nice on the drums. These trucks never had a real good tensioner system to keep the rope nice and it's easy to get bird nests in it. As for the rest of the truck...you typically can't hurt it. You will always overcome the chassis before you do damage to the unit. Show us a pic of the truck when you can. If it's your avatar pic, it looks like a HD3500 with a 60"ca? Hopefully for your sake it's a 454 truck...the diesel was less then "stellar"...LoL That unit will never have a problem on that chassis.

Yea there used to be quite a few Nomar's in our area. Neussbaum's was dealer back in the day. I never ran one my self but this looks capable.

It was a tough situation...I got a funny feeling as soon as I looked in the truck. It had that "Living quarters" look about it. I called our guy at Uhaul and asked him to run the truck number for me. Comes back it's over due since the 2nd, local "in town" rental from up State NY... So I said...well it's certainly not local, and the guy told me he was coming back from South Carolina! The guy was homeless, trying to get enrolled in a local truck driving academy to get a CDL and crashed on the way to his appointment. Everything he owns is in the truck and Uhaul isn't giving him another unit. He needed to get 35 miles away to a Salvation army rehab center where he could sleep for the night...I ended up taking him there because he didn't have much money and I didn't want him sleeping in the yard. Guy was a veteran in the early 90's and it appears he can't get his life together. I don't know what's going to happen with his stuff? Usually they have me discard the contents when the customer doesn't come back. I guess we will see how it turns out...

The weather by us has been a little crazy lately... Last week we had sub freezing all week. The other night I was out with a loaded gas truck and it was 33 deg and raining... Some of the most miserable weather you can work in...it's much easier to just deal with the snow if it's going to happen... Yesterday I went to Jersey to pick up this dump truck a friend of ours bought and it was in the high 40's and beautiful...Nice day for a ride...

Got a call for a crash yesterday on the interstate. We didn't know what size truck it was so we kind of responded with everything we could need...Found out it was just a 1 ton box truck on it's side... I think he dozed off...went behind the guard rail and up the bank. Then he dug in and it flipped on it's right side on top of the median hill.... An easy roll, then we winched it to the top where it was level for the officer to go through it... Had more iron then we needed but better to be safe then sorry...

When we got it all blasted, we noticed that it had a broken leaf spring in the rear...odd place for it to break but we got a new set from Ford and figured we would get them swapped in prior to paint. The last time we tried a pair of aftermarket springs on a 550, it ruined the ride quality of the truck. So to me, it was worth the couple hundred extra to get OEM springs. While it was in, we had my guys mount the back plate to the frame so again, everything gets painted. So now it's officially in the body shop to be refinished. We will start the engine build and reassembly in the next couple of days...

Had the chance to stop by an old friends yesterday in Scranton, Jim Morell's Towing. No such thing as a "quick" visit to Jimmy's but it's as much my fault as anybody...the place is just "rich" in towing history and the stories are second to none. Anyway, I took a couple shots of this unit that he put back in to service while one of his other wreckers is getting some rehab work done to it.... It's a 83 K30, 4wd w/ a 454 & 4 Spd. It has a 10 ton Nomar twin line with a 3 stage add on wheel lift... Jimmy is the second owner of the truck and he knows the history of it since new... She just flipped 50,000 miles yesterday on a call...and ready for more! It's a great place to visit but you should go during the day light so you can get the "tour" of the history of the towing industry from a guy who's lived & worked through most of it!

We prime, seal and paint them with regular acrylic enamel paint. The finish will be like a car.

That is just nuts....you have to wonder if her intention was to kill herself? POS takes the innocent people with her though...Sad.

We were able to get a couple trucks blasted this past week, including this chassis. It's in the body shop now to get painted tomorrow... The new engine stuff came in this week as well so I'm anxious to get the guys back on this... It seems I always have so many projects going simultaneously it's difficult to function and get stuff done...LoL I'm hoping to have the chassis back together and the cab done & back on in the next 3 weeks. Then we can mount the body and finish all of the accessories & "bling". Since my other dump left, it's kind of hot to get this completed.

We set up our fuel tank in the truck with a 30 amp power supply in the bed, controlled by one of the "Up fitter" switches, and a flexible cord so we can move the tray back without messing with wiring... Then we mounted a hose real to the tank body itself for disbursement along with a gauge & a filter system.... This way we can remove 2 retainer bolts and the entire assembly comes out as one unit for storage if we want. We only need the mobile fuel ability in the winter months.

Yea we will find someone...it will make somebody a good truck. It was a special order chassis with all of the after treatment inside the frame so we could get duel tanks and a nice tool box set up w/ a basket.
