  1. We implemented HAAS Alert in May 2021 and are very happy with the results. I am very happy with the investment and look forward to seeing the monthly reports on how many motorists were alerted by our fleet. Thank you Tom and Devon
  2. Frame is back. Engine is rebuilt, original block but heads were cracked. Differential, transfer case and axles all were dry ice blasted and getting painted. New suspension ready to install.
  3. Anyone know of any Stringfellow wreckers for sale? In search of 6 ton twin line. I have parts for a 12 ton if anyone needing them.
  4. Well after some set backs we are finally making some decent progress on the 66. We are down to bare frame. All the components are at their respective shops for rebuilding and restoration.
  5. The 66 is coming along. Now I have my second project in the works. This one is a 46 Ford and will have a Holmes 515SP with cradle. Just stay tuned. Going to be a while before completed, but wanted to share. Hope you enjoy. Questions and discussion welcome.
  6. Still glad to see someone else still uses 2 way radio. We have had them in the trucks for over 60 years and would not trade them for anything.
  7. I am in search of a chariot body for a Holmes 515 or 525 long wheelbase. Needs toolbox across front and fenders for 20" tires. I know that is a tall order but a good template would work I can get on re-fabricated. Please email or call or message me on towforce.
  8. 2/3 course April 17th and 18th in Louisville KY. Plan to attend in class and hands on. We have a new "sandbox" for hands on. It will be a great time. Register at wreckmaster.com. Casey Burrows instructor. Any questions contact WreckMaster or Nick Schade 502 426 4100
  9. We bought the NRC 9945 in 2002 and mounted it on a Freightliner Classic. After 18 years of faithful service it was time to give the Freightliner a rest. The wrecker was sent to Pardo's Service in Richmond IN our NRC Dealer for updates and remount. We purchased a 2016 International 5900 new spec'd and ready for the 9945. We operated the unit with a NRC quick swap until 2020. Cummins with 8LL trans, 46k rears with full lockers 20k steerable lift axle, on 24.5 rubber. Along with an NRC tag axle if needed. Always put the 5 axle where it matters.... During the process we updated the rear legs to a rotator style leg, new 4 stage short under reach, custom boxes installed on body. Weighing in just shy of 50k with a FAW of 17,600. Thank you to Pardo's staff for doing a fantastic job on this truck.
  10. Nice pieces. Didn't know you had the Ford, got anything else hiding down there?
  11. All decorated in time for Christmas
  12. The illumigear halo light is a nice addition. The forward facing work lights alone make it worth while to work in. I don't need any work lights on truck when I wear the halo.
  13. Thanks to everyone. I have no choice on the Ford. We have always been a Ford Company. Even more so now we are next door to the factory in Louisville.
  14. Just picked up today from body company. Now ready for our finishing touches. It is a 2020 Ford F350 extended cab, diesel, 4x4. Diversified front bumper with ramsey 8k electric winch with synthetic winch line. Knapheide body with vanair arc 250 unit. Going to be a great truck.
  15. I never knew exactly where they were built. If you run across any more information please send it along. Thanks
  16. Another reason why the officer should stay in his lane, and you will stay in your lane. Understand on appeasing.
  17. We strap in as well. But no specific law requiring. I would think that the FMCSA is the law when dealing with cargo securement. It makes sense to secure its no different than a wheel lift. Have you ever seen 4 large projectiles at one time? Quite the site. Great picture, cross the secondaries would be my only change.
  18. I prefer the WreckMaster skates as well. We carry them on every vehicle in the fleet light to heavy to service trucks. The ability to interlock them. The ability to invert and make a ramp, brake rotor notch, to name a few specifics. We slide cargo with them, use them for ramps with tool boxes, wedges when inserting cribbing, access under cargo or trailers, the list can go on and on. All skates have a duty cycle. They won't last forever, so i recommend invoicing for skates and you will not have to worry about the purchase price of skates any longer. No matter what brand you choose.
  19. There is more to it than a long time lack of enforcement. Since the city and county governments merged in 2003 the city thinks they are going to make tons of money towing cars throughout the entire city. Then they were sold on the fact that only 1 company was needed to do what it took roughly 8 companies to do prior to merger.
  20. We supply hard hats at our operation, and started that about 20 years ago. I agree hard hats for our industry should be more than an ordinary construction style hat, but the towing industry has to take baby steps. I have recently invested in a PMI hard hat with the chin strap. I must say it was more than a construction style hat but it is more comfortable, better fitting, more secure, anestheticly more professional. I love this hat so much so I don't want to get it dirty. I have also recently purchased a Halo light for my hat. That makes all the difference in the world. I find myself not using as many work lights on wrecker because my hard hat lights up what I am doing along with a red flashing around the brim. I think they should be mandatory and part of any operators uniform. I also want to to say this if law enforcement is going to be on the scene as well they should have one as well, but don't see that happening any time soon.
  21. We started this earlier this year, got one group through, then covid hit and waiting on FD to come back and finish up. Very worth it.
  22. I promise more truck pics soon. We are in the final mock up stages before the cab comes off for restoration. Just getting the lever controls on and adjusted. Making brackets to hold equipment on deck. Just a few little things hoping not to have to drill too many holes once painted. I did run across an item the other day that i had to pick up and will go great on here once completed. I don't know what this came off of or if the serial number can be traced. But I think it's a great find
