I'm not writing this to shame Towmate; I love the product and absolutely will continue using them. It's more of a "heads up" for anyone experiencing these issues with their Towmates, I believe I have figured out what's going on. Specific product being used is a TM-21 light duty wireless tow light. Been using the various models of these light duty wireless ever since you guys came out with them way back in the old days when they were still in the white plastic housing with the rubber covered toggle switch on top so we have some history. In the last couple years the batteries y'all have sourced do not last. The one part I can't get covered under w…

It has to be mentioned that establishing an application for a towing service from scratch takes a lot of time and demands a lot of money investment. It’s not simple for new towing companies or small company owners to invest considerable funds in developing an app tailored to their needs. Instead, there is a go-to option: cloning app technology, which allows you to swiftly construct an app using a successful brand’s clone app script. The Uber For Tow Trucks from a reputable app clone development firm aids in the construction and customization of a towing app development to meet the demands and interests of business owners. The admin in charge has a lot of tools a…

I just came across this post on another site, has anyone else had this type of issue? The purpose of my post is to create awareness over 1 cell phone and 1 man with 4 apps that track my location/alert me of jobs. I had to separate them to different phones to play nice with each other.

This topic was originally created on Tow411 in 2011 by Orcas Tow: That is the question, I'm sold on the winch remote for the new rollback, any good reason other than WOW factor for the slide & tilt to be remote? What situations would the tilt & slide function be helpful/safer, easier in an awkward load or recovery? Rod VT said: Loading motorcycles (no dolly needed). General safety on the interstate (maybe not so important on your island) Speed (you can walk or talk and extend your bed at the same time) "Cheat" loading of cars (drive on, flatten bed while foot on brake) It's totally worth the extra investment for the added func…

TowTimes.com - New San Francisco Program Texts Drivers When Vehicle is About to be Towed

Local drivers in San Francisco can now receive text messages warning them if their car is about to impounded for parking violations. In the “Text Before Tow” program, drivers who opt in to the service receive text messages if their vehicle may be towed for 72-hour parking, blocking driveways or parking in construction zones or temporary no-parking zones. Launched by the city’s Municipal Transportation Agency, San Francisco is said to be the first city in the country to offer this service. The program does not prevent drivers from being ticketed for parking violations. View the full article and more on TowTimes.com

Curbside SOS is a digital platform that connects motorists in need with roadside assistance. We are believers in the free market. Allowing tow companies to set their own pricing. Also allowing the motorists to choose whoever is closer or less expensive or combination thereof, if more than one tow company bids for the job. There are no contracts and we do not charge the tow companies on our platform any fee. We do however charge the motorist a modest fee. So the tow company keeps what they charge. The payment processing company, Stripe, we work with charges a fee. As we scale that percentage will be lowered. Should you…

I saw a quote that read, “Our obsession with using mobile devices every hour of every day boils down to technology addition. Because it’s an addiction, most people have trouble managing it, especially when driving a vehicle. People of all ages have become addicted to their mobile devices, which can have dire consequences on the road with distracted driving.” The average person looks at their phone 50 to 70 times a day. Why? We have been trained by our mobile devices to reach for them. Each time we hear a ping, we receive a dopamine hit in our brains and the dopamine clouds our judgment. This happens more with younger drivers than those of my generation, because they’ve …

I'm less than a year into the industry and loving it and have caught myself getting into drones and photography. Having said that, I've decided I want to equip myself with a body cam to record my recoveries to refer back to, learn from, post on here, etc. Does anybody else already do this and which body cam do you utilize and what do you love about it? Do you prefer a shirt mounted cam or a head mount that follows your eyesight? I'm leaning towards the head mounted version but am very open to others insights.

I was watching Dragon's Den and a couple for guys invented a motorcycle helmet with a brake light on the back. They inserted the sensors from a cell phone into LED lights in the helmet and when you even slowed down, the brake light on the hemet would engage at the same time as the brake light on the bike...it was impressive. Question for all you brave souls out there - Is there an application for this with workers on the side of the road? A light on your actual head to try and prevent what seems to be, a pandemic of lives lost? Would it make you more visible? Is it legal? Would a red and blue light on your head be allowed if they won't allow…
