SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — A pedestrian was hurt when he stepped out in front of a tow truck. It happened New Year’s Eve in the 500 block of Market Street in downtown Shreveport. The truck’s driver had the light at Market at Texas Street when the homeless man walked out in front of him, authorities said. The extent of the man’s injuries is not immediately known. He did have a leg splint when he was taken to a hospital for treatment. The accident impacted travel on Market Street, with traffic backed up to the Convention Center at one point. My data counts 41-tow operators killed so far in the line-of-duty for this year with almost five-full months left in the year. last night around 9:15 PM, another tow truck operator was killed in Louisiana. Christine and I send pur prayer and sympathy to this tower's family and his company. R. COVINGTON, La. – A tow truck driver has been sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting three women who had called him to tow their cars. St. Tammany Parish District Attorney Warren Montgomery says 53-year-old Dale Boudreaux Jr. of Covington was sentenced Monday to six years each on three counts of sexual battery. The sentences are to be served simultaneously. Montgomery says Boudreaux denied all of the allegations, but was convicted at trial in May. BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police have made an arrest in connection with a deadly crash that happened in October. Court documents state Tamyron Glasper, 22, of Baton Rouge, is facing vehicular homicide and other charges. Deshon Murphy, 20, of Brusly, and Tyrin Carter, 19, of Baton Rouge, died in the crash. They were both passengers in the car Glasper was driving. LAKE CHARLES, LA. — A Louisiana tow truck driver was busted with 63 pounds of cocaine in his truck early Saturday morning in Sulphur. Elton J. Richard, 42, of Church Point, La., was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center on a charge of "possession of CDS II (cocaine) over 28 grams" where his bond was set at $250,000 according to a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. NEW ORLEANS -- A tow-truck driver shot a man attacking him in Central City Friday night, according to NOPD. Police say the shooting occurred in the 1800 block of Felicity Street around 6:04 p.m. According to NOPD, a man attacked a tow-truck driver, who pulled out a gun and shot him in self-defense.
