  1. Welcome Chris. Good luck with the RBU information and if you work at it, it will make a huge difference in your bottom line. If you ever need help or have a question, don't hesitate to ask.
  2. Don't worry....I'm still a Ford Guy...LoL As for the camera mount, we have a company that does these upgrades for us and honestly I don't know why it isn't dead center. We can see real good with it though. We have run this rope before on wreckers & rollbacks... It holds up great until someone does something stupid & then it breaks. Eddie had it on our old MPL40 for years with great results. I'm very picky about the rope on any truck...I don't let it touch anything. If I have to damage a strap then so be it but I won't have an issue with it. And this truck is pretty much just for the 2 of us to operate. We didn't install it on the Chevron because they said it would void the winch warranty. We used that truck pretty hard & never had a failure until one of our guys was helping us out while away at a show and broke a line lifting a box truck out of a hole...
  3. That was a big job....not necessarily pretty...or safe for that matter...but they got it.
  4. Not sure but they seem nice... I like the double doors on the big box's I'll check tomorrow.
  5. I don't know what changed then. Our Jerr-Dan dealer said they wouldn't do it from Ram. We just did a pick up the other day at our shop and then had the dealer turn it on in the body module and it worked great. We called the dealer and they said we can't do it on this chassis? Our guy put a screen in the truck but it frustrates me to put after market stuff in there if I could help it. Today we installed the new synthetic rope and 4 point tie down straps. It came with that "8 point" set up but I don't like them. I have some new organization stuff coming for the tool compartments so I will get that sorted next week.
  6. A few additions to the new truck this week. First was a back up camera since Ram won't offer it factory...which is ridiculous... Had to install a screen since you can't use the factory screen on the radio they say in commercial 5500's. We had them install it in place of the rear view mirror. Also installed the GPS tracker and forward dash cam... finished it off with a remote start program...again that you cant get factory on a 5500... Got a shipment in yesterday of equipment so I guess I am done with this one for a while...
  7. Not sure what it was...I wanted to investigate more but didn't take the chance. I am going to do some research with some guys I know out there, if anyone knows the owner. Actually it was only 15 or 20 miles from Tracy "Stubborn66" .
  8. Had to take an old Step Van from the shop to a little town about 55 miles from us... Easy job. On the way back I stopped in a clearing that I noticed some old trucks in when we went by... Always time for a beauty shot... a half dozen other pieces in the barn behind it... No houses around...would like to know more about them...
  9. Helped out the Veterans Association today with the annual Veterans Day Parade. They needed a platform for the TV crew so we set up the Dodge on Main St. for them...
  10. Rob brought this old K30 Chevy in the other day for accident damage repairs.... Just thought it was a nice Autumn Picture...
  11. The one thing about a 2 car crash is you have twice the chances of getting paid.... 😁 My "Girls" working together....
  12. I would like to see Bob Fouquette from Big Wheel / RBU in that class. This man has spent a substantial portion of his life in this business and litterly helps towing companies from all over the country on a daily basis...Every day... The knowledge that he and his family have shared and the battles that he has fought continue to bring our industry to a higher standard. There are thousands of towing companies that look at & perform their services differently because of his teachings.
  13. A lot of time...but that came out pretty cool.
  14. Eddie showed me one yesterday...a black Lariat Crew cab 550 with a 60"ca MPL40 for like $141,000....LoL, they bumped their F'n head...
  15. We have had a few really bad hits in the rain lately. Sucks on trying to clean up a mess in it... This Explorer ran off the road and hit a big rock... Used the truck to slide the boulder off the road... This was a 2 car at hwy speed...a real mess... We had a huge clean up... Had to lift the engine assembly up to get the wheel lift under the Audi. The Cadillac was destroyed as well. Another 2 car up the street from this one
  16. Call came in the other night for 8 cars & a School Bus...but that was exaggerated. We ended up getting 4 vehicles from the incident... My new carrier was getting wrapped so we were short a truck. This was the worst so it got loaded on the rollback. The rear axle was just rolling out from under it as we loaded... Fuel tank was leaking so we put a Hazmat "Diaper" under it to contain the spill... Then a Honda on the back... Eddie was using my little truck to position the other cars for loading. The MPL40 is very quick, strong & nimble to get around in on an accident scene... Had a Jeep and a Toyota that started the whole mess... Then plenty of mess to clean up... Overall it should be a nice job.
  17. Had a call from a customer that we moved some classic Mercedes cars for a few months back. He's building a small garage and they shipped the kit by TT to his home. They needed a way to unload it and some transport since the truck couldn't get close to his home. he called because we solved a problem for him before... Loading up the Skid Steer for the job... Unloaded a couple of pallets... My son & Grandson made quick work of it... Not your "run of the mill" tow job but we got a nickel for less then 2 hrs of work on a nice day...
  18. Had a couple of pieces that needed to get lettered... Picked them up this morning... I was happy with how they came out...
  19. I did the first accident job with the new truck yesterday.... Yep...a few more of these and I'll be paying this bad boy off early!...LoL Lady said "oh you think it's totaled?"...Well considering they haven't made these cars in 15 years I'm gonna assume this is all done...
  20. Couple more feet and it would of been a different job....Nice work.
  21. Yea that's the truth. My 22' was $108 last summer and they told me to duplicate it now was $150...apples to apples.
  22. We had a nice day out yesterday with our annual Halloween Parade. The kids get a kick out of it... We used the Dump Truck this year to pull the Helicopter through the parade... All in all I think we through out 8000+ pieces of candy... It makes for great family memories....and 9 out of 10 Dentists recommend us!... LoL
