Must have got a good deal on that truck to want to do all that work versus ordering one yellow
-
All I know is I have a Vulcan V-70 and I love the tilt. It will tilt extremely heavy loads and the angle of lift don't change. I was told a Century tilts at a weird angle that you may have to run the underlift in or out a little and the tilt can't tilt heavy loads. Guys told me the NRC is a recovery beast but the underlift doesn't work as nice as other brands for towing and has very tall underlift sections to get under low trucks.

Copart and other auctions charge a very high fees so unless the car has some real value it would never be feasible to take a normal junker there

Is there any way to manually release these stupid electric emergency brakes when the car has them applied and has a power failure? Had a few lately that you couldn't jump and everything is dead and the rear wheels are locked. Another hurdle to overcome like getting them into neutral.
-
Sure they work good, just time consuming to rig it up and running an air line to it.
-
Just on real heavy trucks like a loaded tri axle dump or fire truck etc.
-
You definitely want to front tow that going 500 miles. Quite a bit of weight lifting the rear and putting that on the front axle, just won't tow nice from the rear.

Looks good to me, you have them positioned correctly. I would just run a chain or a strap over leaf springs and underneath the underlift.

Anytime in the past that they have asked me to do an "out of area" call, they offer a few extra bucks to get me to go. The problem is, when I submit the invoice for payment, they always scrape off the extra money. When I complain, they always say that the extra money wasn't properly approved, and they won't pay it. There's nothing that you can do. You're not going to go back to the car, and put the flat tire back on, obviously. After that happened several times, I refused to take one of those "out of area" calls. Now, when they ask me to go out of my area for an extra fee, I want them to pay for that call in full by credit card. And their response is, "CLICK"!
I always got paid extra money that I asked asked for. I always get the supervisors name and extension and add that in the notes of their online billing site.

Agero and out of my area and paid my rate

It doesn't help to run the card right away. Allstate back charged one for me an hour later.

Same as towing some of these pusher motorhomes for the same heavy duty rate with Agero. They may be $250,000- $2 million bucks. You think I am going to tow those for the same rates as a 1991 chevy motorhome? Uh, no.

2 good samaritins killed changing flat tire on 222 Reading PA

I guess what I am getting at is that all these motor clubs think you have fleet of trucks and guys ready to run their calls. They send you an automated message or text with seconds to respond if we are accepting or declining a call. At night or weekends I need a minute or two to see who is available and if they want to go? I would just think that there are a lot of small tow companies versus the big 3 shift tow companies like 75 percent small and 25 percent big, but just guessing.
-
Does anybody have figures relating to how many small tow companies are in America that let's say have a couple trucks and a couple drivers that basically operate 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and after hours owner answers phone and see which one of his guys can do a tow at night or on the weekend versus companies that have 3 manned shifts and dispatchers around the clock?
-
I towed them backwards already with a can on, but my front end was plenty light and I have a 2,000 pound weight below my front bumper. Pulling axles sucks.

Good luck on your new adventure. My future son in law has a Tesla. Not sure I am quite ready yet for an electric vehicle.

I was able to bill that tow out on the normal agero site. Got another heavy tow from them this evening we are doing.
-
I got a phone call from Agero today for a heavy duty motorhome call, first Agero call in 3 months. I asked dispatcher is this an Agero call or swoop call? He didn't know what I meant. I received an email dispatch from him after I accepted the call then my phone dinged from Swoop, then I got an email dispatch from Swoop. The driver I sent only has a flip phone. Nobody called and complained they couldn't track my guy. Not sure if I bill on Agero site or swoop site. Nobody ever calls and explains how to handle this transformation from agero to swoop. We towed for Agero for 5 years and not once did a rep ever call and check in with us.

Cha-ching baby. Like to get called to those jobs.

I get a wreck over the guardrail every 5 years, you guys seem to get them every couple weeks.

When does this Agero/ Swoop platform officially start? When does your billing start through Swoop? Do they call you for dispatches or do you get a text or email???

crawling under a car and plugging leads into rear calibers to back them off would be too much of a pain if you could even get under some of these low cars. I just thought I would check if anyone had a magical easy way to release them.
