Unfortunately you only find out how good your insurance is till you need it.

My heavy is a stainless steel body and it originally had dri-dek and it is old and falling apart. Miller has some really nice stuff on a roll but it is like $900 for a roll to do a truck. What are you guys using? Wasn't sure if I would get heavy rubber matting at a hardware store and possibly glue it down so it doesn't move around?

Best to start it out on a brand new truck. If there are nicks or burs in winch drum or rollers, it will ruin new cable. I tow wrecks on my flatbed so battery acid and sharp metal would not be friendly to synthetic rope.

Cool, I wanted to get to the auction but we had a vacation planned. I am a mopar muscle fan.

164 views nobody has knowledge if this can be done or if it shouldn't be done? Or if you ever did it or you never tried it?

A local competitor just towed a single axle pusher motor home backward by forking the Reese tow receiver. Is this ok? I thought I read years ago that towing a motor home backwards by the frame the whole unit could flex and blow side windows out? Thoughts? Anyone here tow them backwards?

we use vital through our local bank 1 free unit and extras are $100 and $3 a month per unit and 1.5 percent. Bluetooth to android or i-phone

Good job. What did you do to get rid of the gas fumes exactly? We had some Uhuals get the cat converter stolen and had to build cages around them.

we have barb wire on but our insurance would not let us put on razor wire. i would like to add 400 volts to it also. Ha Ha.. Local copart yard has fence electrified with warning signs in spanish.

last couple years we are $40 a day with a $40 gate fee

Best thing we ever did. People would come in the middle of the night and clean their wrecked car out and never come in to pay tow. Now, you pay first and then we open the fence, helped greatly on abandoning your wrecked car without full coverage.

I don't know if I am getting too old, but I turn down pusher motorhomes and busses. They suck. Some aren't terrible, but you don't know that till you get there. So many pusher motorhomes are on Freightliner chassis with full round u-joints and that alone is enough for me to turn them down.

I ordered stick on led lights on a roll from a miller dealer, Bresslers in Morgantown PA for all my wreckers and rollbacks. What a difference, lights it up like daytime.

I replaced at least 24 frames in pickups the last couple years and i could always beat flat rate. Keep suspension and other pieces in as large of sections as possible. Separate as little as possible. Never had one come back with a squeek or a rattle either. Looks like you did a good job Ed. Some insurance companies really drag out paying supplements. If it is a company you don't work with regularly, insist they overnight a check for the supplement before you release the vehicle. More and more body shops are doing this, sometimes we spend way too much time getting supplement payments and they drag on for months. Sometimes the insurance sends the supplement check to the customer and they think it is Christmas and they spend it instead of paying us. Good luck in your body shop venture, it is challenging at times.

Looks real nice Ed. A local shop has one of those as a service van for doing road work and trans went out. Large Ford dealer had it a month so far, trans is on backorder. Did you look under it? You need to drop the engine and trans and subframe out the bottom as a unit. Can't just remove the trans. Hopefully you have better luck!!

Unfortunately if you are a tower or a repair shop, don't let one customer be more than 20 percent of your business because if something happens with that customer you could have some real problems.
