  1. Watched as another companies driver walked out into about a foot to two foot of high water to hook a car.

Just 15 minutes after he left, the water went down and I backed in hooked up the other car and on my way.

I'm dry and he is all wet, don't you hate that... Gaining Knowledge & Experience which is always needed.

The water here goes down as soon as the rain slows or stops, it's just a very slow drain in a low area.

  2. It is my scene and as stated we may not have actual authority. However, we do have the power to request someone move to a safe distance or location. should something occur and that person be injured then the tow truck company and operator are going to be at fault. That is even when the person has been advised of the danger. It is your scene to control and if that requires getting law enforcement involved then so be it. Body Cams are something we a highly considering though we have never had this issue arise. The officers did alert us on an arrest tow a couple of days ago that they had a heckler. Someone driving up on them with a Camera and attempting to provoke an action. We all need to have a clear plan of action just in case one of these persons show up.

  3. They let these criminals out with little or no bond and then wonder why they disappear. Bonds need to be appropriate for the crime and bounty hunters need to have an incentive to round them up. The police are too short staffed now, although sometimes they get lucky on a traffic stop. Cannot seek them out anymore and they may get shot or have to shoot. The law is messed up!

  4. This person drove his current employers truck into our lot and asked if we were hiring.

If they are seeking a change on the current company dime then they will do the same.

What are your thoughts on this subject and does this happen in your business?

  5. Early on in the company I always heard my parents say when someone asked if they are hiring. The response was "We are always hiring" even if there wasn't a position open. We get so few asking the question anymore, one of the office staff told a person who walked in and asked if we were hiring. "No we are not hiring at this time". I spoke up "We are always hiring", here is a application.

I was told You need to keep a bench, far to many companies are seeking to fill positions when they turned away several applicants over a few month period. We don't start from scratch each time we have a position to fill. More and more employees are changing employment than ever. Also, we are starting to see more job seeker that have been out of the workforce for months if not a couple of years. Will they make a good employee or are they Lazy. I am going to say they became discouraged and need an opportunity. Why not put them through the interview process, if they are serious you'll know it.

We also considering putting our application on our website rather then filling out a paper. This is paper thing is sorta getting old these days. What are some alternatives to the old paper application your company is using and do you see many resumes? Those applying for a Mechanic position have a resume, Wrecker Drivers rarely do. When we get a Tow Truck Operator in the door they more than likely have a resume.

  6. I concur with Moose, more owner participation in the Owners Den would spark more participation.

I also agree with TowZone in that there has to be a method to control access and funds are needed.

Proud to be a TowForce Supporter, Keep up the good work. Trying to get in here every chance I get.

  7. That is something to think about, I could use the exercise. Although, that is an electric bike and I really don't see enough use for it around here. Possibly in a more urban location it would be an interesting addition to a service vehicle. Kinda makes one look like a bike patrol Officer. I need more info, he should do a YouTube video explaining it more.
