Lodar Remote Control sticking on 2020 LCG 12 bed, anyone else ever have this issue?

Recommended Posts

Driver was loading a 2023 Chevy SUV and not even using the remote, it was located in the door. When he let off the winch control lever it failed to stop and crushed the front end of the SUV into the headache rack before he could get the PTO shut off. $5k in damages to customer vehicle. The rack saved my truck cab. The photo is when the truck was new not after the incident.

We took the module off the truck and the issue went away so I don't think it was a sticking valve or solenoid. It was like the Lodar unit was receiving the signal from some other outside source.

Was the remote on?

I believe the truck part of the remote is energized with the pto switch but the remote has to be turned on (and paired) by pushing the power (green) button on the remote itself.

Was curious if the remote was turned on even though it wasn't being used. I have had interference with mine sometimes with the hazard lights on the truck. If i use the hazards on one truck the lodar will intermittently pause. Doesn't bother with any other flashing lights.

You just explained the trouble we were having, on our newest truck that we got. Our remote was intermittently kicking in and out, while along the road, or on scene at an accident, but every time I tried it back at the shop to see if I could find the problem, it worked perfectly. So, I read your post and thought that might be what is wrong with ours, and tried it, sure enough you saved me a bunch of messing around! Thanks!
