GRUMPS The Towman Posted February 21, 2021 Report Posted February 21, 2021 Like they said in Jaws, "I think we need a bigger boat".... LMAO. Sadly, us old timers Know this deal all to well. It was just the way things were back then... I would have most certainly went through the trouble of turning it around and loading it from the front though.. As a side note, this pic gives you a real perspective of how trucks have evolved into the monsters they are today. Back in the 80's and 90's, that flat bed would been considered a "big 1 ton truck".. silverhawk Posted February 28, 2021 Report Posted February 28, 2021 My opinion is that unit should be turned around, and loaded on a 26,000 lb GVW truck. Quote
Moose Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 Dangerous in any type of weather. Wonder how far this driver moved it. I want to believe that the image is to get a reaction and not a real transport. But, I know there are far to many steering wheel holders that do this stuff. Then just grip the steering wheel harder as though that is going to make a difference. Quote
Ed Allegretti Posted April 13, 2021 Report Posted April 13, 2021 6 lug wheels on the pickup so under 7k lbs for sure I would have turned it around but who knows if its a v6 I don't see any issues the way it sits. These old rollbacks with 16" wheels and 19' beds were overloaded empty but somehow managed to haul the mail for decades. Quote
yoBdaBenO Posted April 15, 2021 Report Posted April 15, 2021 There's is no way that is not light in the front end. controlling the steering would be fun. Been there done stupid things and got away with it. Don't do stupid things like this anymore. Quote
Ed Allegretti Posted April 15, 2021 Report Posted April 15, 2021 lol on my phone it looked like a normal load but I viewed this on my computer screen and I'm embarrassed to have said it looks ok. It's not. 1 Quote
