The Company Notification on their FB Page Stated:

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic loss of one of our operators, Daniel French. He was a valued member of the Big Boy’s Family. He will be greatly missed by many. He was killed in a head on collision yesterday afternoon (11/28/20) returning from a call. Please keep his wife and family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time.

We will announce arrangements once they become available.

It's sad news to hear that Daniel was killed in a vehicle crash. Not that it matters, there are many other reports to suggest Daniel wasn't on duty when the crash occurred. Christine and I send our prayers the French family and to Big Boy's Towing. It doesn't negate the fact that the industry lost another brother.          R.

Thanks for finding the link, such a tragic loss. Though, this wasn't a Tower Down. Similarly, a tow operator had a medical emergency while off duty. He did not survive. Another tragic industry loss, it's sad that many are including these 3 industry deaths in same category as Tower Down which is a Tow Operator Struck or Killed which On Duty.

Please do not take this as insensitive to the loss of life.

You're welcome Ron.

I've learned this morning of a well-known Florida tower who passed away Sunday from off-duty injuries in another vehicle crash (that occurred in October) in-which he too was a passenger.

I agree that these posts are NOT insensitive as to any tower who passes away, but there's an importance as to the accuracy of on-duty, industry related incidents.           R.
