  1. I have increased what I charge the customer per mile. I look at what fuel cost at the pump in my area and adjust accordingly, I have a fuel barrel at home so I very seldom fill up on the road. Also before the last election I was really concerned that fuel was going to clime in price so I contracted my fuel for 2021, 2022, and 2023. I know what my fuel cost is and it is a considerable savings over what is at the pump. And no I am not passing them savings onto the customer.

  2. Stiff legs are a must have item. I built and installed them on my century 412 on a  2019 ford 450. Make sure you get limited slip of some sorts. Better to have and not need than to need and not have.    As for a sling I dont have one. I use forks or will short chain to wheel lift. Mount dollys on top of deck. Collins make self loading dolly backets. They are not cheap but well worth the money.  Also get a Mico brake lock. The oem emergency brake on truck in my opion are junk.

  3. I have been in the same spot where you are. I sometimes do motor club work when they cant get anybody else. They pay me my rate not theirs. I also have made the mistake of not running the card up front. So if a motor club  decideds not to pay for any reason. I get even with them ,and then some. Sooner or later they will need me again and they will pay dearly for my service. They get an education about what happens when you f##k with me,

  4. When I was younger and dumber I did some hauling similar to that. No weight on steer axle it dont turn so good. Way over on the drive axle.  When going down hill it feels like you cant go slow enough. The overhang out the back is just nuts. If you are a religious type person you will talk to god the whole way praying something bad does not happen. Now that I am a little older and not as dumb you could not pay me enough to do that. Nothing good comes from abusing a truck like that.

  5. HI. Would like to know what type or brand you are using? The good and the bad about them?

With me previous employer it was never really an issue, most of the vehicles we towed where either older (made out of steel) or hit so hard in a accident it did not matter where

put the lights (did not halfto worry about scratching anything) I now work for a different towing company and last night it became and issue. (all aluminium) I put the lights on the end of the boom extended up above the vehicle and away we went. Yes you could see them but I didnt like it. The lights should be on the towed vehicle.
