TowZone
I didn't go through the images. Is it possible the boxes are Century and the bed is Vulcan. Making it a FrankenCenturyVulcan?
someotherplace
Someone went to a whole lot of effort to reduce the load capacity of that unit instead of just cutting the frame. Richard
Louwo
Is that a pony motor behind the boom for hydraulics? Wow that's a trip.
Patrick McVeigh
my dumb ass bought it but paypal is dicking me around , wont release my money to the seller. yes it has a hydraulic power pack lol. which is interesting. it has v10 with auto no pto on trans. i looked up kit and they run about $2000. he told me the pony motor works great. franken century???i dont know those boxes dont separate its one unit. reduced weight capacity??? i though longer wheel base is better for tow trucks?? Longer wheelbase helps keep the front end planted, but all that extra weight of the boxes on the chassis decreases from the truck's GVWR. Unless the builder had some legitimate need for all that storage space, which is unlikely, IMO it was just a "did it because he could" effort to use up the frame length of a truck that was previously a flatbed or box truck, instead of relocating the spring mounts forward and chopping the remaining frame off at a more reasonable wheelbase for a wrecker - 60" (no boxes, just bed) or 84" cab-to-axle (1 regular box, and bed). If the boxes appear to not separate you can bet the builder welded them and filled the seams, probably with bondo. Richard
Patrick McVeigh
thanks for the reply. i pick it up this weekend will update then. i have a rollback body and a short framed f550 i was going to extend maybe im better off swapping beds if its possible to chop some tool boxes off. it looks like it has the longest wheelbase chassis. on those f series cab chassis you usve to cut the frame to shorten it because the frame rails dimensions change before rear axle. will update Monday. thank you Edited October 4, 2019 by Patrick McVeigh add

Bushwacker
Was the wheel lift hydraulic? I seen it on eBay but the seller never responded to my questions. Seemed like a good deal till I realized that the under reach is probably cable style is why the seller never responded. Let us know how it all works.
