GRUMPS The Towman
In NY a semi combo with one 53' trailer can be towed on state routes and interstates. On the NYS thruway where double 53' B-trains are allowed can be towed off the thruway to the nearest exit under police escort at speeds not to exceed 30 mph. If memory serves right the max length on state highways and interstates is 185' without a special permit and escort. I could be wrong on that but that is the number that keeps coming to mind. Been many a year since I have been in the heavy towing end of things. Quote PROFESSIONAL TOWING & RECOVERY IS NOT JUST A JOB.. IT IS A LIFESTYLE
