Well, doesn't get much more risk than this. The headline exaggerated things a little but nevertheless, it could have been a lot worse. I think the driver had many options but chose an unsafe one. https://www.skynews.com.au/details/_6111245221001 http://www.bjtowingadelaide.com

"MICK Simpson is no shrinking violet, and I am sure a cast of thousands could attest to that statement. With 50 years in the industry, young Mick has worn a lot of hats during his time, from government clerk, to Telecom heavy vehicle driver, to accident chaser for truck smash repairers. The last job is the one he is most well known for, with over 25 years working on the worst side of the industry." A tow truck operator who says he has already lost 40 per cent of his business due to COVID-19 remains in limbo after a months-long battle with the City of Mandurah to park his vehicle on his property. At their meeting last week, Mandurah councilllors were deadlocked on a request to allow Kaotiik Towing co-owner Shane Woods to park two tow trucks at his house on Copperfield Close in Greenfields. They initially voted to reject conditional approval but then voted against refusing the application. The City’s policies allow Mr Woods to park his trucks at his home, with about 20 other businesses operating in a similar way throughout Mandurah.…

Greeting I've always loved the few weeks I got to spend with the great mates at Sowerby's towing in the great town of Toowoomba, Qld. One year their heavy was in one of the tow magazines of their international article I wish I still had it or can find it. It was a Pete with a 50ton slider came from Baltimore and converted to a RH drive truck by I think the fellas at Truckworks. I may be wrong I have to find my shirt. It was a unforgettable experience to drive that Pete and do a recovery or two as well as all the other trucks doing various jobs wanting to move out there. I can't stress how great the staff was and the owners of Sowerbys are. Made a wonderful experience …

THE feeling is indescribable. All Sam Grundy can hear when he grips his sedan's wheel is the roar of the engine. All he can see is the expanse of Maryborough speedway's circular track before him, tinged slightly red from being freshly resurfaced. From the driver's seat, the Hervey Bay local is oblivious to the 1,500 strong crowd cheering. But that doesn't mean the adrenaline of competition doesn't affect him. "In terms of danger, horse riding is worse than Super Sedans, even though I have about 700 more horses in this baby,” Sam said, slapping the black hood of his high-powered Hervey Bay Tilt Tray Hire race car to emphasise his po…

INCREDIBLE DRIVER: Max Quaglio doesn't let his cerebral palsy stop him from working as a truck driver. Kate Dodd by Kate Dodd THE word "can't” is one that doesn't exist in truck driver Max Quaglio's vocabulary. Yes, he might have cerebral palsy - a physical disability that affects movement and posture - but he doesn't let that stop him going out and chasing his dreams. Max works for Clayton's Towing Service at Nambour in Queensland and it's incredible what he can do behind the wheel of a truck. He's worked at the tow truck company for three years after his father Ben, who is also employed…

Three drivers were given the fright of their lives around 8.30am this morning on Pumicestone road in Caboolture in Brisbane's north, when witnesses say the ute came speeding down an off-ramp. Other drivers saw the plumbers’ vehicl…

For twenty years I owned a Ww2 Chevrolet Blitz which was used as a yard crane on the farm. We lifted engines, Weed Spraying equipment and much more. The Blitz was cranky to start had no brakes and became a one man could drive vehicle. With help from some mates we mounted the crane on a Toyota Dyna which anyone can drive and it stops to. Yes the Dyna is smaller but this is really a engine lifter. We have a counterbalance planned for the front. Chev Blitz was to hard to use on farm . The Dyna ticks many boxes. We have since fitted a aluminium tray over rear wheels. The boom came from a F350 Tow truck it has been s…
