Opposition calls for tow truck regulations to be brought in urgently, after bikie gang link fears

The opposition has called for greater regulation of tow truck drivers to be enacted urgently after a police crackdown found links to bikie gangs.

WA Police revealed a two-week crackdown on the industry earlier this year uncovered links to the Rebels, Mongols, Gypsy Jokers and Coffin Cheaters gangs and led to the seizure of seven trucks.

A major police crackdown on Perth’s tow truck industry has found that four WA bikie gangs — including the Rebels and Mongols — have strong links within the industry.

WA Police launched Operation City, which they said was intended to target criminals in Perth’s tow truck business, earlier in 2023.
