Today we lost a Father, a mate, a very valued employee and a genuine good guy. Steve Latimer was involved in a two truck crash today at Wowan (South West of Rockhampton) and sadly Steve and the other truck driver passed away. Steve has been Clayton’s Towing’s Area manager for many years, and is a real icon in the Rockhampton area. He was a family man, who would always go the extra yard helping others on the road in their time of need, he had a heart of gold. He was the man everyone went to when they needed local knowledge, always had his finger on the pulse. Our condolences go out to Steve’s family, friends and fellow staff members, he will be sadly missed in the Clayton’s family.

RIP Steve Latimer and Brian Shaw

The two men passed away in a two truck crash near Wowan on Tuesday. Steve was driving a Clayton’s tilt tray at the time.

More than 130 trucks gathered at Westwood and drove through Rockhampton to pay tribute to the men. Steve’s memorial banner lead the parade on the front of one of our heavy tow truck which is operated by Steve’s son Brodie Latimer. A very emotional but also uplifting tribute to these men.

Thank you  Randall  please send our best Regards to Christine  as well ...

I have learned in the past hour of another tower killed at the side of the road whilst  recovering a car  today ,     at Southampton   ...not 25 miles from here .

I dont know any further details at this time....

No matter where it is in the world ..... the dangers towers face daily are the same ....so tragic !!

John.
