someotherplace
Holy crap...obviously easy to Monday Morning Quarterback it, but I'd have been sorely tempted to release the winch, throw it in reverse then mash on the brakes. Let that sumbitch burn on the ground, not on my deck. Richard
Louwo
IMO I dunno bout that letting it roll off. Thats what insurance is for. What if the gas tank got hit? Im guessing them savannas have a steel tank. There could be worse lilabalty if you let it roll off and it rolled into something or even worse someone.I would believe I would do exactly what he did. Stop possibly away from people or in a lot and get the fire dept out there.
TowZone
I would think that for many reasons as soon as you see fire. Pull Out a Fire Extinguisher and attempt to work the fire. If it is too large lower the bed, engage the winch while on the phone to 911. In many areas the response time could burn your tow truck as well. I would not have left it on the bed... goodmichael
Richard, I am in agreement. If the tank rupture, and that is pretty unlikely, so be it, but you did all you could do.
