Recommended Posts

Well my new rollback finally got done and we picked it up tonight...

My grandson & I just got home @ Midnight...truck ran well. It's our 1st F600, has a 6.7 Diesel w/ the 10spd trans & 4.88 gearing. It's a 20' Jerr-Dan steel deck w/ removable rails and the Self Loading Wheel Lift. Now we will start the custom stuff...

Didn't have a lot of time today but we got the truck in to at least put equipment in to it if we need to use it. We gave it a "Once over" and everything looks pretty good so far. Fallsway in Ohio built this for us, they have done 4 of the last 5 new trucks we bought over the last 2 years. Dale & Brenden are good guys to work with and they know our business 1st hand which is beneficial.  We dealt with a number of supply chain & delay issues since it's conception but it was beyond their control.

This unit also has the Self Loader wheel lift installed which to us is beneficial for accident work. I anticipate that I will get the added cost on the back end when we sell the trucks.

We had a lot of custom lighting done on this unit from the start. It has Blue & White lighting added to the Amber units...

The Whelen side strobes also have LED puddle lights to illuminate the work area along side the truck We decided to try this style instead of the factory RAIL lights from Jerr-Dan. They work well too but the added lower illumination seemed worth the added cost.

Definitely "Bright" out the back.

As for the truck, I'm glad to be back in to the Ford. This F600 does ride a little "stiffer" then a 550 but still compliant. It sits a little higher, presumably from the tire height difference. This is our first Power Stroke with the 10 spd and it has great power & smooth operation taking off. It feels more like my 7.3 Gas then my son's 19' diesel with the 6 spd. You can't get the 600 quite as opulently outfitted as a 550 but the interior is still nice and comfortable. I'm anxious to put something heavy on it to see how it handles. I think it will transport our clean up equipment very well.

I'll do some more pics as we go...

We have done a number of our trucks & equipment and liked the results. It makes it real easy to clean, most of the time just blast it with the soap gun and blow it off. Whatever we can do to preserve the appearance should benefit on the other end when this unit gets replaced.

So does that coating just go on the bed toolboxes, and wheels, or is that for the painted body as well?

No it's primarily for the cab...painted surfaces. They did the body sides as well. We have had them do wheels as well on natural aluminum but this truck has coated wheels so they didn't.

We have been using it somewhat regularly and it works nice. It handles weight nice...no drama.
