EdsTowing
Got a call the other day from a customer that said they needed a Tandem axle box truck, fully loaded, towed from the rear due to a broken rear spring. They were looking for 100 mile tow to Philadelphia. I declined and told them nobody should do it and that they need to find another solution...You would be lifting 30,000lbs on the wheel lift and nearly doubling the weight on the steer axle of the truck... They said thank you & hung up. Got another call the next morning for the same job but now they said broken Air spring...and going 30 miles to a dealer. I accepted the call for a substantial fee and said we would take care of it.... I rear lifted the truck and removed the blown air bag. Hooked the 2 lines together and aired up the rest of the system. I put a piece of hard wood between the spring saddle and frame stop to keep that corner from leaning too hard... Then hooked up to the front and towed it to the dealer Pretty easy job once you overcome the customer's request...
Stuart Wagner
Good job coming up with a solution. No way you want to rear tow that. 1 Quote Check out our website at: www.cjwagnerinc.com
