  3. Nice truck.

On all our Fords 350 to 550 we installed a monoleaf under the mains, and a real set of overloads, added 2 leafs to the mains and set it on 1" blocks.  Has a decent rake to it.  Rides comfortable as well.

I really like the new dash. Hope the build goes as you like

Pm the vin number I may have already towed it, but you may not want to hear that. LOL

  4. Just picked this up from Custom Built.  A little history about the chassis.  We purchased it in 2002 and stretched the frame.  We mounted our first ever heavy duty hydraulic a NRC9945.  The unit remained in service for us until 2020.  At that point we removed the NRC and remounted it on an 2016 International 5900 operating today.  So this Freightliner chassis was sitting there looking at my brother and I saying what now...

As the chassis frenzy started to heat up and orders canceled then more orders cancelled we thought should we just refurb the truck. This just gave us 18 years of dependability, very little down time, and didn't talk back when it had to go out in unfavorable conditions?  That's what we did, total refurb front to back.

So what do we put on it?  A Custom Built CB30 with a sidepuller. Nick Dangelo and his staff did a great job putting this unit together.  The opportunity to make this unit what we wanted the layout to stay consistent with the rest of the fleet, and the ability to customize it to our needs and wants.  Thank you Nick.

The refurb 100% worth it.  We know it is a classic, but really its a Classic. Looking forward to another 18 years of  service.

  6. Scott,

Ours was TWinbrook. 5-8245.  Which worked out great for us..... Guess why?

I have several other numbers for the old Louisville towing companies and will post them next week.  We are the only one left in Louisville that had letters for a phone number.  Maybe we should put that on the trucks again.

On Monday afternoon we transported a pumper truck from the Jeffersontown Fire & EMS Department to Dawson Springs.

Earlier this month, a tornado tore through Dawson Springs, destroying everything in its path, including a fire truck and police cruiser.

We at Tony's Wrecker Services volunteered to deliver the truck. The 1997 fire engine was being used as an auxiliary pumper.

Instead of selling the truck, Jeffersontown city officials voted to donate it to Dawson Springs along with a police cruiser.
