KY Nick
Steel coils fell off trailer on off ramp. Sent truck driver onto our facility. Used rollback and wrecker to pick up coils and reload at our facility with forklift. 2 Quote Nick Schade Tony's Wrecker Service Louisville, KY
rreschran
Hey Nick ... when those heavy, heavy steel coils are lying flat on the pavement, what technique do you used to get an edge lifted to be able to get chain or a strap threaded through the center-hole ... something to avoid smashed fingers. KY Nick
Those coils weighed 250lbs each. Simple crow bar with skate and 2x4 got the job done. With larger coils we use a cable choker or loop choker to lift edge and then crib around coil. In some cases we use the choker to continue to lift and set coil up. rreschran
Very nice. Thanks Nick. That's what I know too and demonstrates the newbies how to get lift started. I like the idea of inserting skates. R. Quote Randall C. Resch
EdsTowing
When they get big, it gets much more challenging with the "eye to the sky" situation.
