16 or 20 ton?

we're looking at expanding. was looking at a century 4024 but was wondering if it would be better to start with a 16 ton or would that limit us to much. don't want to start with a truck to big or one to small looking to see other peoples experience thanks

Just my opinion—definitely 20, had same thoughts 3 yrs ago.   We went with single axle 25 ton,  extremely satisfied.  Perfect size truck for our area.  Can handle a pickup up to tractor trailer no problem

What is your thought on what types of vehicles to tow. If you want to tow a small car like a Toyota or Nissan sedan, you need to get a 16 ton because the truck allows you to do this. If you are looking to tow Medium Duty trucks or larger and not cars than a 20 ton or larger is perfect. Always think about your application and book of business before purchasing a new wrecker.

I mean,  if you fit the wheel grids on,  you can tow a car with a 60t rotator.  Its almost never done because fuel and availability are important with an asset that expensive
