Driver Dead After Crash On Turner Turnpike Near Kellyville (OK)

CREEK COUNTY, Oklahoma - A recovery crew found the body of a wrecker driver who died in a crash along the Turner Turnpike Monday morning between Sapulpa and Kellyville.

 

Multiple agencies, including the OHP, were on the scene for several hours.

 

Troopers say the wrecker hauling a semi ran off the road and into a ravine full of water on the westbound side of the turnpike.

 

The driver of the wrecker died at the scene but troopers had to call in a special recovery crew which used a boat to find the body.

 

Clifford McMullen said he heard the crash from his house, which is about a half-mile from the turnpike.

"It shook the house and we woke up. We looked around but couldn't see. Had no idea this had happened," said McMullen.

 

Neighbors said this is the second semi accident they've seen here in the past few weeks.

How horrible, the operator wasn't found until more than 8-hours after a police water rescue team came in with a small boady.

The crash debris is difficult to tell a potential cause, however, the right front tire appears to be flat. Could a steer-axle front tire have blown?
