BrokeAndAtFault
Does anyone have any resources for towing and storage laws/regulations in pennsylvania? Attempting to do some research on the topic and there doesn't seem to be too much that is easily accessible. The only storage citing I see are that Pennsylvania has a maximum of $25/day unless the municipality has set other rates.
EdsTowing
There are a number or laws in the Motor Vehicle Code Article 75. https://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/LI/consCheck.cfm?txtType=HTM&ttl=75&div=0&chpt=37 Sub chapter 37 "Miscellaneous Provisions" has most of the accident related issues. Here is the Towing & Storage act which they passed a few years back... https://casetext.com/statute/pennsylvania-statutes/statutes-unconsolidated/title-73-ps-trade-and-commerce/chapter-28b-towing-and-towing-storage-facility-standards-act The problem is, this has some pretty broad strokes in it and was obviously driven by the insurance industry. The reality of it though is that there is no governing body in the state that is in control of enforcement of the act. So actually, you could tell them to pound sand and there isn't anyone that is going to do anything about it. In court, I'm sure the judge would give it some weight though. Good luck. 1
