EdsTowing
Shop decided they wanted to freshen my 550 up so it came apart on Saturday. This truck was bought from a dealer spec when we needed another wrecker quickly and trucks weren't available. We always planned to paint it our colors and the typical stuff we do but never got to it so we'll do it all now... This truck is our only "Gasser" and my daily driver. I have been very happy on how it performs & runs. This will get the fender flares door handles painted. We will shoot the wrecker unit our grey color since it came black. The wheel lift is scratched all up from using it anyway. The wheels were removed to be sent out and buffed. It has the coated wheels from Ford but they have been messed up in spots since new and it's frustrating that you can't get them nice. My grandson that just turned 16 has been put in charge of this project by my son. He wants him to learn what needs to be done to keep them nice and get involved with the "Refurbishment" division of our company since it's the fastest growing aspect that we do. I'll post some pics as we go along....
EdsTowing
They made some progress on it today... Removed the tool boxs to install the Aluminum dress up plates on the front...we've had them since new & never got them on. This will make it easier to paint the chassis as well. The wheels got dropped off tonight to the "Polisher". Ordered new Synthetic rope for it for when it goes back together.
EdsTowing
Moving right along... They got the chassis shot yesterday and the wheel lift T Head... Today the boom gets shot along with the rear accessories. He's body color matching the door handles & front flares as well. On a side note, an opportunity has just came up that if it happens, this truck will be for sale. If anyone is looking for a very nice & fresh twin line wrecker, this truck only has 13,000 miles and works perfectly. Otherwise, it will continue life as "The Boss's Truck"...LoL
EdsTowing
Well the Body Shop is done with their part. The boom came out like glass... They got the fender flairs & door handles color coded to the body which I like... Now it's back up in the truck shop to be put back together. I'm hoping to have my girl back by next week. EdsTowing
Waiting for a trim panel to finish the left side...right side is wrapped up. Not sure if I like the rear fenders painted the body color? I have to get it outside and get a full profile look of it. They were going to change the front Valance Panel...we usually put 2wd Valances that are shorter on the trucks. On this truck, it doesn't cover the counter weight so the original unit is going back on. Wheels are done - had the coating sanded off and then buffed out to a mirror shine. Some new steers installed while they were off (still had original front rubber). They put in LED Fog Lights now and a few other goodies...
