TowForce Posted August 17, 2023 Share Posted August 17, 2023 Person killed in hit-and-run on Parkway West PITTSBURGH — State police say someone was killed on the Parkway West overnight. In a press release, state police say they’re investigating a fatal hit-and-run. Authorities identify the person killed as Husam Shuibat, 53. While investigating, troopers learned the suspect vehicle’s description and later located it. They also found the driver and took them in for a blood draw and interviews. Several lanes were closed overnight about a mile before the Green Tree/Mount Lebanon exit for a crash. State police, firefighters and EMS all responded to the scene. A Channel 11 photographer noticed a tow truck on the scene with a car on its bed was later towed away. We’ve learned it was towed to the Pittsburgh State Police barracks. The Pennsylvania Towing Association released the following statement about the hit-and-run: The Pennsylvania Towing Association would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of Husam Shuibat from Green Tree, Pennsylvania. Mr. Shuibat lost his life last night after being struck in a hit-and-run incident while loading a vehicle. The at-fault driver was later found and arrested. The investigation is currently ongoing.
