OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A 24-year-old man driving a tow truck was killed Monday morning in a crash involving a water tanker truck in Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the wreck occurred around 9:22 a.m. on Poinciana Parkway and Marigold Avenue in Kissimmee. According to a crash report, a 65-year-old Winter Park man was driving a water tank truck north in the median on Poinciana Parkway approaching Marigold Avenue within an active construction zone.

At the same time, an Ohio man driving a tow truck that hauled a 2018 Mercedes Benz CLA-Class was traveling in the same direction in the inside lane, according to the FHP.

Troopers said the water tanker truck entered the inside lane into the direct path of the tow truck, striking it. The crash report shows the 24-year-old man was then ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Winter Park man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the FHP said.
