A brake job would have been far less expensive than the increase in insurance, loss of use to repair the hood, increase in insurance or out of pocket expense to fix the damage to the casualty, as well as expense to fix the road.  Luckily nobody driving by was killed or injured by the runaway truck. Luckily the operator was unscathed as well. Costly mistake, totally preventable.
