Billy Green
A guy who works his entire shift in an Amazon warehouse wears a safety vest all day…. The kid at Chick-fil-A working the drive thru wears a safety vest or belt all day long…. The guy that rounds up buggy’s in the Walmart and Target parking lot wears a safety vest …. But a lot of guys that work on the side of the highways and interstates at all hours of the day or night with vehicles traveling at speed of 70+ mph refuse to wear one….
Animosus
MUTCD Section 6D.03 states: “All workers, including emergency responders, within the right-of-way of a roadway who are exposed either to traffic (vehicles using the highway for purposes of travel) or to work vehicles and construction equipment shall wear high-visibility safety apparel that meets the Performance Class 2 or 3 requirements of the ANSI/ISEA 107–2004 publication … or equivalent revisions" I know our highway patrol will call the next truck on rotation if you show up without hi-vis on. rreschran
Each biz mentioned is a biz where employees are exposed to moving traffic including forklifts. Requiring vests is a smart practice ... ask your Workers Comp rep what's in-store should an employee (without a vest) get run over, injured or killed? Providing a reflective uniform shirt with reflective sewn in eliminate drivers who forget it won't wear them. 2 Quote Randall C. Resch
Moose
Even though we hear the complaints ----- Vests are required here, no excuse... PERIOD.
Beautiful BC
The uniform shirts, pants, and coveralls provided, should all have hi vis and reflective materials, same as the jackets.
