OK, Tony you have my attention. You went from 1 truck to 50 trucks in a period of 1 year. If you do not mind me asking, why can I not locate a DuraTow in the state of California?

Well Moose glad you did a search for me and didn't find nothing. I was just being sarcastic. Theres a point to that comment i said. I can be polite and as people  for help i get no help, get pointed the wrong direction , or no responded. But i can say something rude to someone i get all this attention. Other thing this insurance companies go by LexisNexis data and  believe what they tell them about the person which is not true they proably just did a google search on someone and got it all wrong. Im just going throw it again i hate this feeling Moose dont mind me.

Hey New Guy ... What you've mentioned has all the markings of being an award winning Rat Rod Wrecker. As a long-time judge for tow trucks and wreckers at tow shows across the US, I personally have a fascination for vintage tow trucks and rat rod wreckers. Rat rods are fun, creative and flat-out awesome. For me ... rat rod wreckers are the same modern hobby for adults that I experienced as a kid building models. If I didn't like the way they were going together, I'd mix a bunch of parts and come up with some off the wall version of my own. With the vintage tow truck's you have, may I suggest looking at building a rat rod wrecker? If you've got a pile of parts, a welder and a case of Krylon, you've got the platform of a rat rod. There are hundreds of em' out there where," part's is part", can be found at any junk or salvage yard. Forget about fit and finish and look at rust and fade as intricate qualities to build yourself a show winner, or a wrecker that everyone drools over at your local car shows. Nothing needs to fit or be accurate as it's you're imagination left to run wild. Have fun at what you build and like the guy's said ... send in some pics.  Here's link for play:    https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ALeKk03-kqgA-oa24ys44loRB8ecwH66Jw:1583811528781&q=rat+rod+wreckers+pictures&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwieoMHc_Y7oAhWLuJ4KHRKGAjAQ7Al6BAgKECI&biw=1280&bih=559                                                                                                               R.

YEAH I HAVE GOT OF HELP FROM EVERYONE IN THE INDUSTRY. MY TOW COMPANY I HAVE STARTED A YEAR AGO FROM HAVING ONE TOW TRUCK NOW I HAVE 50 TRUCKS. THEY HAVE HELP ME SO MUCH THAT I CANT BE SO THANKFUL. NO ONE FROM THIS INDUSTRY STEAL FROM YOU OR LEAD YOU IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. AWSOMEE

This is a great lesson on the value of time. While GOA's shouldn't be thought of as, "the cost of doing business", these types of calls are the reality of the industry. I believe each call has to be evaluated based on its details as well as factoring the possibility the motorist could be gone. Accordinly, may I ask what your GOA fee was at small claims? How much did the court award you? Now, playing the devil's advocate, consider the costs of filing, certified mailing, other preparation costs, the cost of fuel to run around and the total time the process took you? Consider your worth per hour and your vehicle's wear and tear while you drove back and forth to the courthouse, while you sat awaiting trial, parking, fixed costs, like insurance, rent, power, utilities, any business that was lost to fight small claims, and the wear and tear on you personally? How many calls went away because of a need to defend the principal of right and wrong?  And then, if the judge says, "pay the man", how long did it take to collect? Accepting these kinds of calls are risky where special consideration must be given when taking the chance of not being paid. Even large companies can't afford to lose payment for calls that are potentially snoozers. And, what about the judge Judy who later says ... "You didn't provide any service, judgement for the defendant?" Small claim's court is a 50-50 proposition where sometime's you win ... most the time you don't. If a company has 5x GOA calls a month ... that's a really hard hit. It's a fine-line in choosing what call to take and what call should be turned down.     R

So tonight, Agero contacted my company and ask if we could do a winch out of a stuck vehicle in the forest. Agero was told that we could use our off road recovery equipment but we charge different rates for this service then the contracted rates with Agero.  Agero contacted the customer and let them know our hourly rates and told the customer they would have to pay the difference that Agero wont cover.  The customer agreed. We drove 2 1/2 hrs to do this job and the customer knew how long it would take us to get there and even asked us to stop and get them water. We get to the entrance of the Forest and called the customer and found out they called out another off road recovery company in the area and that company was currently getting them out. Even tho we were on time! I contacted Agero of course because now 5 hours of time will be wasted to/from because of this person. Agero said the would pay the GOA fee. The GOA fee is not close to our hourly rate! Has anyone ever billed a customer that went through a motorclub, but agreed to rates of the towing company, then calls someone else?  Where can I find the rights towing companies have? Heck, do we have any?

What do you mean with " billing a customer for using a motor club service?" What is the correct way of getting paid and doing business in the tow world?

If a person thinks they are working too hard, or is getting burned out they need to staff the issue with their employer or supervisor. To lie and state that you are sick, then be seen out in public drinking is not acceptable. I do not care what you know, or how good you are or think you are, if I can not trust you, I can not trust you.

Once that asterisk is next to your name it is hard to, if not impossible to make it go away.

But to lie in business is good rite? The only thing i am amaze from when the employe does it back to the boss. The boss get all mad. And start nagging. When the employess i didnt say anything about yours. if can dish it you have to take it to..

  7. Yes and i agree 100 percent on what you just said. And im doing this for money. I have the cash for insurance i paid my truck cash for it. its all mine. i got business cards. i talk to people and i know how to read. this is where i tell you why i said i know how to read. so lets just say brokers agent what ever they called them selfs rite nasty people they will sell there moms. i can show them what are the requirements for insurance they asking from me. and they will say to me well no this is what you need to get. then they just dont know about the industry to. i done my research on it and i thinki done a pretty good job doing it already. i got my ca number , dot number, paid for my motor carrier permit now this brokers are playing with me. they ask me for the down payment so i take it to them then i see its aloan for insurance i ask them how come you didnt ask me to bring you the whole thing. arent you listening to me. dont go base on that computer.  then  im pretty good with computers. i see what they doing with our data bro. and is not a good thing. i dont mine getting dirty to make a money if someone ask me to go cut there grass i will if they pay me. and i got a trade i went to college. i learn something and i do use it to make money. What kind of truck you got?

  8. Thank you for feedback and i seen how people are cutthroat in this side of lifestyle. It no difference where i'm coming from the only thing is we deal with it in a different way.  And i have took a class already and i paid im full with no discount. And i can say i did learn something there. He was a great instructor. And then the following week i did it in a real situation and guess what i didnt even get paid for it. You see goodmichael they way i see it. im paying for my owen paying outta my pocket and that is expensive. Im not asking no one for a handle out. But there rules in all kinds of life styles we choose even on the bads ones. and even you gotta pay for it. So if someone does something to me dont get all mad at me larter and start talking to everyone. Just take it as it comes. Just like i did and i dont want a big piece of the pie i just want what i ask for. the peple i know in ths industry i dont bug them i asked one or two one said to give him 200,000.00 just to let me in. Then other 200,000.00 to train. I asked him what you gonna do with that money. He said i would really get a nice yard get new truck and stuff. and this guy been doing this for a while. he likes my truck its better then his. so i ask him well you been doing this for 15 years plus so why dont you get credit from the bank homie why you gotta come at me like that. i worked hard to saved my money to get this. just like you got all this. but you need to change your attitude with people. you go around asking for discounts but when its now you to do the same you dont and thats why no one likes you. Thanks good micheal and thats not the only story i got since i my truck and wanting to work for a living now. im going on a year now.
