An incident between rival tow truck companies in Perth's northern suburbs has turned violent after two drivers arrived at the same towing job.

Nine News Perth reported the confrontation occurred in Alexander Heights around 2pm on Sunday.

Two drivers from rival towing companies allegedly became involved in a heated argument when they both arrived at the same job.

The argument then escalated with claims it became violent.

One driver alleges he was knocked unconscious, stomped on and had his truck keys stolen, forcing his company to call in another tow truck to tow his away.

The man was rushed to Joondalup Hospital.

Police are investigating the incident.

Nine News Perth reported both tow truck companies were insisting their driver was not at fault and vowed to cooperate fully with police.
