ESC
On October 10th, 2018 we received a call from a customer at 12:07 PM to respond to Little Conestoga Road in the area of Route 345 in Elverson PA for one vehicle after an accident. We were advised a Ferrari was stuck in a field after "the gas pedal and brakes stuck" and the driver would meet us at the scene. We immediately dispatched a flatbed truck and a wrecker to the scene. Once on scene, we found a long set of skid marks on the roadway leading to a slight embankment into a cornfield. Pennsylvania State Police were already on scene. Our operators immediately met with the state troopers. Once the troopers finished their investigation we were given permission to recover the vehicle. Soft straps were attached to the vehicles rear chassis. Our 100' extension cable, 115' wire rope and extra lengths of chain were attached to the straps. Our wrecker was used to winch the vehicle out the same path as it had traveled in. After winching 100' our extension cable was removed. The vehicle was winched another 100' to the edge of the roadway. Our flatbed truck was then positioned to load the vehicle. The vehicle was loaded and secured to our flatbed for transportation to our secure storage facility. Our wrecker operator transported the driver back to his destination. It turned out that the driver had taken the car on a joy ride with permission from the owner. The driver was asked to have the vehicle owner contact us in regard to delivering the vehicle to a repair shop. The next morning, the vehicle owner came to inspect the vehicle. Arrangements were made for us to deliver the vehicle to Scuderia Performante in Malvern for repair.
silverhawk
Those cars make terrible combines. But they are cheaper.
Lightdutykid
How far was your tow to your secure facility, any concerns with air flow getting behind that windshield and causing damage?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ESC
How far was your tow to your secure facility, any concerns with air flow getting behind that windshield and causing damage?Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkGood thought. It was a 5 mile ride back to our shop on back roads not over 45 mph. To be honest i never even considered that being an issue. But I could see how it could cause issues, especially at highway speeds or a long trip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkWe don’t always get the luxury of loading a vehicle forward. And the length of the tow and slower speed you were definitely okay. But definitely something to keep in mind in the future. Thanks for sharing!!!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
