TowBot
No surprise – Top speeds increase highway fatalities. “Over past 25 years over 36,000 lives could have been spared if states had not increased their maximum speed limits.” @NHTSAgov http://ow.ly/XbjD50rjRIF View the full article and more on TowTimes.com
rreschran
If a highway's sign posts a speed limit of 80-mph, traffic most likely will flow at ten-miles per hour over the limit. The article and its data only helps to confirm that distracted driving and the inability of a high profile SUV or mini-van at speeds of 70-mph or better is a receipe to disaster. Obviously, they don't stop, steer or corner well at speed. Combine those inherent qualities of a drunk or distracted driver who isn't wearing a seatbelt adds to the fatality statistics in all states. Thanks Maria for sharing. R. Quote Randall C. Resch
