A Woodbury police officer was taken to the hospital Friday after police said a tow truck struck his vehicle.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. near Interstate 494 and Tamarack Road in Woodbury.

Police said the officer is expected to be OK. Authorities said it remains unclear what caused the tow truck driver to hit the officer's vehicle. Authorities did say they don't believe alcohol was a factor.
