Reeves recently sold the business to Bruce Macrafic and Rick Kahnke who co-own Affordable Towing. All American has been absorbed into Affordable. Reeves began working as a young kid at the towing business owned by his dad, Brad, and other partners. While Kent owned the business, the …

So when Butler, the owner of City Line Towing in Willmar, Minn., read about Mike Olson’s plight, he knew he could help. He called to offer his towing services and expertise — free of charge. Olson, of Chisago City, is the owner of the 26-foot white-and-blue fiberglass 1977 Pearson sailboat that has been frozen in the St. Croix River since Nov. 1. An old boss and dispatcher of mine has passed away. Doris Hill passed on at Meritcare hospital ion Fargo, ND on Tuesday the 27th, at the age of 73. She and her late husband Albert had purchased a Mobil station in Bemidji, MN in 1960. In 1976 they sold the station to focus on towing. She did bookkeeping, dispatching, and various other duties up until recent months at Hill's 1'st City Towing, which she and her son, Keith continued to operate after the loss of Albert (some years ago, I am guessing the early to mid 80's). The funeral will be this Sunday. I plan to attend, as I and many will miss her. She was a great person, who had a heart that was perhaps too big at ti…

NEW ULM — Dick’s Auto Repair & towing Inc. owner Dick Berg sold his business equipment at auction June 14 but he has no plans to retire any time soon. Berg, 72, has been in the repair and towing business for 52 years. He said he plans to continue towing vehicles to local law enforcement impound lots after being escorted by officers to the vehicles. “Back in the 60s and 70s, I could go out on a service call at night and not worry about anything,” Berg said. “Now, you have to be careful about who’s in the vehicle. Cars now are very fragile too. They’re full of plastic. I won’t go out unless I’m with law enforcement. Years ago, if someone was drinking too…

The very image of a tow truck with a vehicle loaded on the back can cause a spike in blood pressure among anyone who's received so much as a parking ticket. The sight of one parked illegally raises the scene to a new level of outrage. One which must, inevitably, be lived out to its fullest extent on social media. One recent night, a visitor to the Burnsville Center shopping mall noted a tow truck sitting in the fire lane, just outside Applebee's, just after 8 p.m. "Cars had to take turns going around him," reports the witness, who also take a photo of the truck, "as he was taking up the entire righ…
