Platinum Sponsor BigWheelArchives Posted June 16, 2018 Platinum Sponsor Share Posted June 16, 2018 12-19-06 Received a call from a local welding company that one of their trucks was almost tipping over into a river in the back of an loading dock with a heavy load of oxygen and acytalene cylinders. We responded with our 60 ton rotator and lifted the rear of the truck, and placed it back onto solid ground. Also, we used our HD ramp truck to winch the truck forward as the rotator picked and moved the truck forward. slimsanta said: Bob, how or what do you do or use to keep your rollback from sliding back while winching? Al Dakota Service & Repair, Brookings, SD Big Wheel Recovery said; The ramp truck is 33000gvw we didn't need much of a pull we just didnt want to put all the strain on the spin motor and the reason the ramp was there was my father drives that truck everywhere that is his truck he takes home we are always in our trucks because when were not we always need them . slimsanta said: Thanks for the reply. As a A-Ox dealer for 25years, I am very aware of those top heavy trucks. Al Dakota Service & Repair, Brookings, SD Big Wheel Recovery said; Al that ramp has air brakes an maxies,if the pull gets harder we have chocks, also the tow bar helps, an last but not lease on soft ground you can set the bed to act as a spade,if things get worst then we roll her out an bring in a big boy ,but we always bring home the blueberrys. thanks BOB
