TowForce
B.C. massage therapist spits at tow truck staffer, gets suspended A B.C. massage therapist who spat at a staff member of a towing company after her car got towed has been suspended for one week. According to a recently published Dec 28, 2022, College of Massage Therapists of B.C. decision, Ashley Di Tomaso got angry after her car was towed and used "vulgar and unprofessional language" towards the staff of the tow truck company. She then spat at the glass divider that sat between her and the staffer. The decision says during the outburst in March 2020, Di Tomaso identified herself as a healthcare worker. More than a year later in April 2021, Di Tomaso had a "road rage altercation" with a driver from the same tow truck company. She again used "vulgar and unprofessional language" toward the driver of the truck. The decision doesn't go into details about the specifics of what took place following the March 2020 incident, but the North Vancouver massage therapist was charged with assault and two other unspecified charges. The charges were later stayed by Crown prosecutors, however Di Tomaso failed to tell the regulator she'd been charged. Di Tomaso signed a consent agreement admitting to the conduct. "(The regulator) considered Ms. Di Tomaso’s admitted conduct to be serious. A failure by (Di Tomaso) to report required information to the College impedes the College’s statutory obligation to regulate the massage therapy profession in the public interest and to meet legislated information-sharing requirements," the decision reads. The College suspended the massage therapist for one week and ordered her to pay costs of $500. She will also have to complete coursework on professional ethics and undertake an anger management course. RESOURCE LINK
rreschran
Spitting is quite frankly one of the most foul, disgusting acts a person can inflict on another. I'm glad to see this female was charged with assault. That fine is nowhere enough. 1 Quote Randall C. Resch
JackBoon
It's a shame tow truck drivers, when just doing their job, get treated this way.
