TowNews
From WSDOT: On Wednesday morning one of our Incident Response Team members was doing traffic control at a collision on northbound I-405 in Bothell when a driver of a van slammed into the back of his work truck in the closed toll lane. Our colleague had to be extricated from his vehicle by the fire department and he was transported to the hospital with injuries to his shoulder, neck and leg. We had advanced warning signs along with cones set out and emergency lights on. The Washington State Patrol reported that the driver of the other vehicle, who was also hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, is being investigated for impaired driving. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this IRT worker has been injured in a work zone crash while simply out trying to do his job, helping keep people safe and get home to his wife and kids. Just as unfortunate, this is not an unusual occurrence for road crews. Most drivers are safe and do the right thing, but it only takes one to change someone’s life forever. So again, we ask you to PLEASE do your part to keep road workers safe. If you are operating a vehicle, always be sober, alert and focused. Those workers are counting on you to help get them home safely. (Photos from the scene courtesy of Washington State Patrol)
Moose
That's a Hard hit, I think about what if the driver was entering or exiting the truck at the time of impact.
