The 5553TA traveling axle trailer from Talbert Manufacturing is designed to transport a wide range of vehicles and equipment, from large tour buses and shipping containers to skid steers, mini-excavators and low clearance equipment such as rollers and pavers.

 

The 5553TA offers a planetary winch and Talbert’s redesigned piggy-back cylinder with a 5-inch diameter allowing for faster axle travel and more power to move axles in adverse conditions and low clearance and dead loads. It has a 36-inch loaded deck height and a 6-degree load angle for low ground clearance equipment. The low deck height also adds additional clearance under bridges and tunnels when transporting tall equipment.

 

The 5553TA comes standard with a 20,000-lb. planetary winch with a direct-drive system for loading speed and it’s controlled by a six-function wireless remote. Rechargeable through a USB port, the remote has a range of over 200 feet.

 

The 55-ton, 53-foot trailer is rated at 100,000 lbs. distributed and 80,000 lbs. concentrated in ten feet and is constructed with one-piece, 4-inch I-beam crossmembers on 9-inch centers. Multiple double keyhole tie-down slots come standard.

 

Additional features include two large, lockable toolboxes that include built-in chain racks and weather-resistant door seals.

 

Talbert manufactures the 5553TA trailer with heavy-duty T-1, 100,000-psi minimum yield steel, 1½-inch Apitong deck flooring and it comes standard with Valspar R-Cure 800 paint to prevent corrosion.
