TowZone
Eau Claire (WQOW) - A local tow truck driver has one thing to stress about icy roads after getting hurt on the job last year. "If you do have to go somewhere, go slowly. It's better to arrive late than dead," said Alex Denman, with Chad's Towing. Last year he was on a call recovering a vehicle off of Hwy. 53 when a car came sliding from the right and collided with the back of his truck sending him flying into the ditch. He was hospitalized and has fully recovered, but finds too often people aren't following basic rules when it comes to driving in hazardous weather. He said people are always in a hurry, going too fast and not paying attention to their surroundings. "Cell phones are huge, I love my cell phone as much as anybody, but there is so much going around you in this two thousand, four thousand pound bullet that you're in and you're rocketing along and you look down for one second and you've missed a quarter of a mile" Denman said. "It's terrifying being out there on the side of the road knowing that people aren't looking." RESOURCE LINK
